Want it off by default, and well hidden three levels down in the menu.
MS should add it to the startup quiz you get the first time you run IE.
Just ask something like "Do you want advertisers to track your web use?"
Don't include a default.
NO ONE will click yes track me. The result will be the same, and MS can tell the advertisers to F.O.
A staff member "inadvertently" installed Linux.
I could maybe see it if it had been one computer (still a stretch), , but the reports say "computers". How can you do it to more then one computer if you are not trying to get rid of something.

I jailbroke my iPod touch 2g. There was some other good hardware available at the time, but they did not have much software. So the best thing available for me at the time was a jailbroken iPod.
Now I have a Nexus 7 and I can do the things I did on the iPod (and more) without even rooting it. The only problem was I lost all the apps I bought for the iPod and I could see some people sticking with a jailbroken iPhone even though they would buy Android if starting out now.

But just like the iThings, you don't have to make it impossible, just a bit difficult to stop most people from doing what you don't want them to. Most people don't jailbreak their iThings.
It is yet to be seen what real world Windows 8 computers will be like to install other OSs or dual boot... or how hard it will be to jailbreak RT.

They can't get past the idea that everyone is just waiting to pay big money to watch crap on a 3" screen.
With they way they whine about people using too much data, what would happen to their network if this was actually popular with iPad users?
And the one place I do see people watching video... the subway.
Keys that don't start falling off a week after the warranty is over might be something to think about too.
Only 2 HP laptops left. Dell Vostro costs about the same but stands up better, and Dell will sell me a new keyboard (or anything else), not say it is "not a user serviceable part, send it in for service".
For Canada your home phone is flat rate for local calls. The cell phone companies want to charge big money per minute but the land line monopoly (Bell Canada) at the time would not pass the charges on as their deal was for flat rate calls. So the cell companies charge the called party.
It's changed since the early cell phone days, Bell Canada is now one of the biggest cell phone companies, and some cell phone companies now offer home phone and cable TV is added to the mix as they all buy each other. There is no way to know if you are calling a cell phone and you never get charged extra, a local call is a local call, and if the cell phone is out of it's normal area they pay the long distance charges.
So blaster never existed. And the pile of visit a website with IE get hosed flaws never happened.
You could make XP secure... with an air gap.
By the time it reached SP2 it was a lot better with a lot of the attacks were against applications (some were MS applications like Office) and not the OS.
