What are you talking about, there are thousands of things like wifi routers and cable modems with known holes you can drive a bus through that don't get a patch because they are a year old and and the new model is out. It's only that they want to keep selling the same one.

It has tried to turn Cortana back on and switch the default to also search the internet when I'm doing a local search after updates as well. So even if you figure out how to turn off crap you don't want is no guarantee that it will stay that way.

They have 2 guys fixing stuff and 3 guys sticking random bits on. It will never work correctly.

I had one of their wifi routers. With only 3 devices connected to it I had to reboot it every 2 days. The dumb switch I had was OK.

I have a computer with the service disabled, and a script that will kill it if it tries to start. And yes I have seen that script pop up a few times, most often when you plug in a new device even a USB stick, or a mouse.

Samsung already have their own app store. And a Samsung with generic Android is funny, they have more krud then any other phone. Even have their own assistant. They could remove the google stuff now and have a working phone. It would suck, but it would work.
