I dunno the second was OK

The Terminator

An excellent film, best of the series, short, well written and well acted.

And explains why John Connor gave Kyle Reese a photo of his mum.

Re: Like there never was a matrix 2 and 3

I keep saying there wew no Matrix sequels.

I keep saying there is only one Italian Job film.

I keep saying Taxi was made in France by Luc Besson.

Re: some of use can actually play FPS with a controller.

Yes a Move controller and a Navigation controller.

Twin stick controllers are not natural for shooters, aim assist is what makes them usable.

MJI Silver badge

Re: FPS

Mouse, no I'm sticking with PS Move. Point and shoot - great.

Currently playing Bioshock Infinite, good controls except I keep using Vigors instead of zooming in.

Pity so few shooter games supported Move.

AAA shooter games using it well

Killzone 3

Resistance 3

Portal 2

Bioshock Infinite

P2 and BI both use it due to the designers playing KZ3

I struggled with PS3 Portal 2 until the Move patch was released.

TBH the lack of Move is the main thing making me nervous about the next gen.

Funny! (Reading Long Earth at moment)

I started getting panics and headaches about 10-15 years ago, I was drinking tea at work, changed to decaf and panics went as did headaches.

I drink mainly decaf tea, and I actually like the Asda ones.

Re: FFS - It's a development kit, not a prototype or manufacturing sample

Actually they do write their own PSGL is based on OpenGL but most programmers go lower than that either LibGCM or direct to chip.

MJI Silver badge

It does on the CellOS variant, for keyboard and PS Eye

MJI Silver badge

BSD

Well the Vita PS3 and PS4 all use BSD.

So do Apple for their OSs.

Not well known but a lot of other systems use it.

MJI Silver badge

Re: FFS - It's a development kit, not a prototype or manufacturing sample

They won't use Open GL they will use their own faster libs

Re: Exclusives

So lets say that Naughty Dog were given the task of converting to a lower powered console with less disc space?

How would they fit say 50GB on a DVD, handle a processor with less cores and less power than their target one?

Very badly.

Put it this way, Sony owned IPs are written for a computer using a Cell processor using CellOS, low level graphics calls not related to other systems, a certain memory model. So a Window OS using DirectX will be a LOT of work.

Exclusives are where any console shines

MJI Silver badge

Exclusives

It is exclusive because Sony own the studio, they own a number of top studios.

Re: @MJI: Windows love hate

It is a pain, us older PC programmers were used to various DOSes with Netware, then we get used to the Windows GUI, then they break it.

There are times I would LOVE to get out of IT, Hmm small B&B by the seaside sounds nice.
