Ondigital those encrpted channels you could not watch.
FTA DTTV was pretty good, I got it mainly as an anamorphic broadcast source for a widescreen TV.
I had a first generation Sony IDTV, excellent picture, a good tuner, better than the Ondodgy ones.
A £3 per month offer was made to all IDTV owners, I was loaned a Nokia Mediamaster (yuk) for pay TV until my TV software could handle the OnCAM.
After the CAM was working recording was painfull as removing the smart card from the TV was awkwards, then messing with the timers on the Nokia and my Sanyo VTCM40. At this stage I considered Elvis programmer simply to clone my 18 channel (AFAIR) subscription. But then they were looking dodgy so I cancelled just before they went bump.
The MM failed the following year so I replaced with a Pace Twin now not working due to poor support from Pace they do not work in post switchover areas due to software issues.
The TV tuner would have failed DSO as well but I wanted an HDTV. I would have been in the position of lots of digital TV kit not working.
The early BBC broadcasts were high bit rate and very DVD like, combined with a Wega tube, they looked fantastic.
Well I call it a GUI, GIF as before G from Graphics
SQL never got this sequel nonsence. Anyway SQuirreL sounds better, goes with GIraFfe.
I prefer ISAM anyway, got about 10 lines of SQL in our system, however it is fun to use ISAM on an SQL select.
NOTE: Some SQL servers started life as ISAM access client server engines and just grew extremely powerful filtering technology.
Had to use the red car icon again!
Upvoted for the mini review, can ElReg review this rather than another boring hybrid.
Well it does appeal to me, similar power to my saloon car, but a lot lighter. I have too many children for a smaller car.
Can't afford one. But simply appeals to me.
NOT an inline 4 (boring), Driven correct end. Light.
I have driven a lot of cars and the best handling one is still a 1970s hot hatch with forest springs, not best road holding, but most fun on a twisty road, a 1600cc twin carbed gokart. Only let down was a live axle and no panhard rod.
I managed to get Word a bit better by downloading alternative menus, wordmenus I think, Excel is still broken, I only use it to open CSVs.
I can now write a pretty document quicker in a text editor using HTML than in a word processor.
Win 7 paint is terrible. The OE replacement is unusable.
I will have a look at open office thanks!
If you cannot buy XP you will obtain instead.
I had a little (30 sec play) with Win8 at the weekend, and it did something VERY stupid.
It was on a Win7 looking screen, I pressed the simple 2x2 Georgian Grill lookalike button between Ctrl and Alt and what happened?
The start menu DID NOT happen and some stupid mobile phone like screen appeared. Now every version of Windows I have used except for 2 and WFW, bring up a menu, where the f**k is it?
BTW I deleted Win 2 for disk space and only used WFW for a year or so until we went 98.
8 is simply not workable if you lose your screen whenever you hit that button.
It also has the best marketing money cannot buy.
Name 2 well known Fiat 500 owners.
Name 1 well known Fiat 500 fan.
If you are going to recommend a small car, why would you not choose the Top Gear endorsed one.
Richard and Mindy Hammond have them.
Jeremy Clarkson likes them.
James May prefers the Panda.
Now two of 500 fans work on a well known TV show and have driven a lot of cars, so I think their choice is very good for marketing.
We have been with Halifax for nearly 20 years, recently Halifax accounts were pulled into Lloyds computer system.
My wifes debit card expired and no replacement appeared, I contacted Halifax, it was posted to our first address, we cannot sort it over the phone so we have to go into the branch with proof of address.
According to the call centre they are getting a LOT of calls over this.
Is it worth investigating?
Didn't play it until recently due to 2011 overload (Uncharted took precidence), got bored with it, it is same as same as. It is also a bit of a grinding game.
I hope AC 3 / 5 / 8 is better
We have 4 BD, 2 cartridges and 1 UMD here with Assassins Creed on it.
Think I will wait for the price to drop.
Push too hard and we drop to one broadcaster.
We accept adverts if they do not annoy, rare and well made.
We do not accept them pushed over everything, remember advertisers killed internet advertising not the users.
TV, Go loud - mute, go on too long - skip, do something eye catching - may watch it.
Internet, popup - block, animate - block, noisy - block, irrelevant - block, sits there doing nothing at the top of the page and is relevant to the page you are on - might click on it. Relevant as it sitting there not annoying me, advertising something to do with the forum I am using, a lot of forums are funded like this and they do not annoy the users.
