The FBI as advanced persistent threat – and what to do about it

>>The best device to reduce road deaths, suggested economist Gordon Tulloch, would be a large steel spike in the center of every car's steering wheel.

I believe that was T E Lawrence first.

Proliferation of AI weapons among non-state actors 'could be impossible to stop'

Frank Fisher

were the last 3 years an AI prank?

Given that we hid in fear from a "pandemic" that was certainly less dangerous than the flu and with an average age of death greater than the average age of death, perhaps AIs are already screwing with governments via underhand manipulation or skewed presentation of data? We saw from the whatsapp leak that these clowns could not convert a decimal to a percentage, do we think they could spot warped data coming in? I doubt it.

Another conspiracy theory coming true

I first wrote about this in 1995. They were still scraping afterbirth off the WWW when a French European Commissioner put forward a proposal to mandate use of an offline ID to verify online identity - that never even made it to the european parliament, but it Keeps Coming Back. It is clearly a global objective, and the biometric-linked identifier many of you now carry - also known as a covid pass - will likely form the basis of a global ID system indelibly associated with your very own genomic signature

Yeah yeah, tinfoil hat etc. Laugh at someone who's been right for thirty years, it really makes you look clued up. Just wait and see.

ProtonMail deletes 'we don't log your IP' boast from website after French climate activist reportedly arrested

Privacy is over

The global state corporate superstate needs access to ever word you say, in order to monitor, uncover and brainwash you. They can't keep this phony baloney hysteria going without that level of control; so no laws, no principles, no regulation, no ethic or IT best practice will keep their goons at bay.

You are the product. You all know this. Today you are the data product. Tomorrow you will be Soylent Green. You really do all know this.

Whatever 'normal' is, global CEOs don't expect to see it return before 2022 and are ploughing funds into security

Frank Fisher

The world has gone mad

Why on earth are we unable to have business as normal now? What is going on? We have had a minor infectious disease that has taken us back to the devastating plague year death rates of.... 2003. Smack on the thirty year average. Yet that blip in deaths - of the very old - is being used as a rationale for turning the world upside down. Why?

Re: A shameful time for big tech and supporters

Guiliani has a thousand affidavits - sworn testimony. Most of these have never even been looked at by a court. I suggest the Navvaro report is the best place to start reading up on the reality of evidence. https://navarroreport.com/

BTW, try googling for the navarro report, and then try a duckduckgo search. It may teach you something.

Frank Fisher

That's a plain lie. I have watched a press conference video of Trump denouncing white supremacism immediately after Charlottesville and the room full of journalists reporting that he supported it. The back and forth during the press conference was a furious screeching match with journalists demanding condemnation, Trump giving it, and in the next breath journalists screeching that he had not. It was insane.

Here, see for yourself - full conference - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ovkMSJ6svc

And here is the moment that the press decided to lie about from that day to this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ovkMSJ6svc&t=1165s

Frank Fisher

A shameful time for big tech and supporters

Of course this is censorship, political censorship, and built on a web of lies and distortions. Why shouldn't' people be allowed to say the US election was flakey - there are dozens of statistical red flags and hundreds of sworn statements detailing abuses. Why shouldn't people be allowed to demonstrate against such an abuse of the democratic process? Why shouldn't they be angry? And yet the media nd tech decries the anger, decries the genuine fear too. But will gagging all these people resolve the issue? No, more likely that instead of school shootings the US will now see a rash of big tech and media shootings. Censorship merely enrages it does not remove.

And the uniform applause from the media is quite slickening and self-interested. No one points up the inconsistencies. Amazon is furious about 98 nasty posts, but amazon literally sells Mein Kampf and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion

This is the world's darkest day since 1945, and nine tenths of people seem to be delighted.

Bill Gates lays out a three-point plan to rid the world of COVID-19 – and anti-vaxxer cranks aren't gonna like it

Frank Fisher

What pandemic?

There is no pandemic. This is a minor bug. all the media hysteria in the world does not change that. The death toll *from* coronavirus as opposed to *with* coronavirus is well below what we might expect in a highish flu year. 50k died in the uk from flu in 2017/18. we had no panic.

This is the world's biggest over-reaction. And I am surprised the Reg can place such faith in a rushed out vaccine for this coronavirus when there is not one effective vaccine for any other coronavirus.

Nothing that is happening has anything to do with a virus. It is you people ignorant of biological science who would seem to be the tinfoil hatters.

One click and you're out: UK makes it an offence to view terrorist propaganda even once

Frank Fisher

We're all terrorists now

In a free country no laws like this should exist, so clearly we are not now a free country. the idea of jailing someone because of *something they read* is obscene. it should not need arguing against, it should not need deconstructing, it is obscene. Anyone who proposes trash like that is my enemy and should be the enemy of all decent people. We need to clear out the Westminster stables, and the phoney NGO parasites like Liberty who actively enable this crap.

Europe plans special tax for Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon

Frank Fisher

EUSSR

Taxing *turnover*? Let's remember that many companies have high turnovers and are, as yet, not profitable. So you would tax companies into deeper losses. And taxing companies be diktat? IE, we will tax this company and that company, but not you, you'r eok.

How can anyone be okay with this? Open your eyes people. This is rotten.

Time's up: Grace period for Germany's internet hate speech law ends

Frank Fisher

Re: So who is the arbiter of this problem?

So when Facebook or Twitter decide you're a racist, who do you appeal to? With a *court*, you have a right of appeal, and fixed definitions to unpick. What do you have with Twitter and FB?

Governments are intentionally offshoring their censorship so they can squeal "oh no, we're not censors.... " And also so they don't have to have untidy and public debates in parliament regarding which 15% of their populations they're going to gag.

C'mon Reg...

Do you think Trump was unable to feed carp properly?

Frank Fisher

More fake news on the MSM than on facebook

How many people saw the entire media claiming Trump didn't know how to feed carp, or that he'd claimed Sweden had had a terrorist attack, when it hadn't? Totally fake. Totally mainstream generated.

Basically believe nothing unless you see it with your own eyes.

Indian call centre scammers are targeting BT customers

Frank Fisher

it's always an inside job

After being closely involved with a work colleague being scammed - first alerting her to it, and ccd in all bank discussions - it is VERY obvious that all these frauds are based on insiders within banks and utilities passing out personal information. Plus, I heard of another recent case that almost went as far as prosecution, then the CPS inexplicably "lost" all evidence. I think we need to accept that we now live in an extremely corrupt society. It wasn't always like this.

MPs worried Brexit vote website wobble caused by foreign hackers

Frank Fisher

Russel's teapot is now a samovar.

Did you see what I did there?

Frank Fisher

Occam's razor

Every government built website to date either attracts a hundredth of predicted concurrent visitors, or a hundred times it. They either drift on, unloved, or crash under unexpected load. This one had everyone from Obama to Geldof begging people to visit it before it closed and.... it crashed at that point. Gosh. The Russians? Or SNAFU?

Very obviously, SNAFU, and yet our hopelessly Remainiac media once again weave their fake news on top of wishful thinking and pure blind fantasy.

I feel embarrassed for them, to be honest. Leavers are meant to be the thick ones?

UK to block Kodi pirates in real-time: Saturday kick-off

Frank Fisher

I remember the best part of twenty years ago when I first wrote about the IWF being able to lean on ISPs to block alleged child porn content, backed by Home Office muscle but no laws, that this was the slippery end of an unregulated slope - and I was called paranoid. Anyone calling me paranoid now? The courts are saying because the *architecture* is in place, why not force people to use it?

We've found a ‘vaccine’ for fake news. Wait! No, we really are Cambridge researchers

Frank Fisher

And their "fact" is not a fact

" "97% of scientists agree on humanmade climate change." That's the "fact" they demand people accept - and of course it isn't a fact at all. One clue is in the term "humanmade" but the other is the failure to define which scientists, or precisely what they are agreeing to. And if we dig into the origins of this dubious stat we find it's pure cobblers. Watts Up With That has a good debunking

There's a war going on for your mind. This "vaccine" is probably the daftest weapon yet unleashed, but I imagine the nastiest ones will never be discussed. The scariest remains the MSM, which seems unable to distinguish truth from lie itself.

Why Theresa May’s hard Brexit might be softer than you think

Frank Fisher

North isn't as smart as he thinks he is

Worth pointing out that the Norths were adamant that the referendum would be lost because the leave campaigns weren't listening to them? They were furious with Farage, with Boris, with everyone who wasn't arguing for "Flexit". They were certain the public would only accept a detailed plan, dotted is, crossed ts, that gave a ten year roadmap for exit. They were totally wrong.

And Richard is wrong now - the flaw with Flexcit is that once you're in that halfway house YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE. If we put ourselves just slightly offshore, WE WILL NEVER LEAVE. he's a bright guy but he does not understand politics. If this is to be done it must be bloody, short, irreversible.

EU ends anonymity and rules open Wi-Fi hotspots need passwords

Frank Fisher

Don't you get it?

"The kids" will happily sign away their kidneys for free wifi. If the Eu gives it to them, everywhere, with a tiny little privacy catch.... kaboom, that becomes the new normal. There is an expectation of continual surveillance, an expectation of continual censorship. Our youth already love Big Brother.

Frank Fisher

Re: So many holes, it could be cheese.

"Would we have to run a set of ID's we trust, or is some pan-European authentication platform being formed to support this - given the mobility of people around the world."

Exactly what the Commission proposed way back when. Using state-mandated offline ID to log in with online, everywhere, as soon as you go online. No internet access other than through an EU-approved membership system.

Still think they're the good guys?

Frank Fisher

Fits the pattern

The EU has been aiming to eliminate online anonymity since the early 90s - they'll be reviving that old French plan to get everyone logging in using a state-approved offline biometric.

Just one more reason why Brexit must mean real Brexit, and fast.

Tim Cook: EU lied about Apple taxes. Watch out Ireland, this is a coup!

Frank Fisher

Re: So many commies reading the Reg?

The FT is rabidly pro-EU yes, and you make a fool of yourself by accepting the line that anyone voted out of the EU to get £350m a week spent on our NHS. That might be the spin the BBC put on it, it's not the reality.

Our referendum was nothing less than a proper proletarian revolution against the bourgeoisie. You may be surprised what might happen in Ireland if the opportunity was offered.

Frank Fisher

Re: So who is telling the pork pies?

It isn't the ECHR that's a problem, it is the supremacy of the ECJ that is. And in most countries of the world- ie everywhere outside the EU - controlling your own laws isn't seen as an act of "bigotry".

Frank Fisher

So many commies reading the Reg?

The point folks, surely, is that Ireland should be free to manage its own tax affairs, and the EU should not be imposing diktats in a capricious and unlawful way? Retrospective legislation? Threats? This not a club I'd like to be part of. Oh, we voted out. Hurrah. Iexit next?

Three non-obvious reasons to Vote Leave on the 23rd

Lords try shoehorning law against revenge porn into justice bill

Frank Fisher
Thumb Down

Evil, or just stupid?

Are these people idiots? I can see so many problems with this law, apart from the disproportionate horror of locking people up for clicking "Submit". How is a court going to establish what the tangled nature of consent was at the time? How will they decide if consent was withdrawn, and that was clearly communicated? if the pics were posted when all was rosy, and then consent was withdrawn, does it become an offence to refuse to delete them? What if the images were posted somewhere were they CANNOT be deleted? What if the uploaded has forgotten their passwords? What if they forgot where they posted them? What if a thousand people repost?

Stupid damned idea. No doubt it will become law.

I QUIT: Mozilla's anti-gay-marriage Brendan Eich leaps out of door

Frank Fisher

It was the Fabian HG Wells who suggest that the Left needed a "liberal Fascism"...

.... I don't think anyone can deny that this is the world we live in now? The left dominate the airwaves, the media, government, civil service, NGOs - they pay lipservice to free speech but woe betide you if you say anything to upset them or one of their client groups. If gays want marriage they should go through the normal democratic process to achieve that (they didn't do that here in the UK) and when they do that it is *entirely legitimate* for others to oppose them, as Eich did. Without free speech we have no democracy.

I won't be using firefox in future, not even as a development tool. Will have to figure out other approaches. I don't care to endorse the fascists or their appeasers.

Douglas Adams was RIGHT! TINY ALIENS are invading Earth, say boffins

Frank Fisher

I think you mean Fred Hoyle was right!

For all the mocking panspermia is a very compelling theory. Much more plausible for life to originate in space where big stuff happens a lot, than here on the dull earth.
