all this proves is that someone who is a fan of something, and probably thinks about it much more than normal, recognises and appreciates the image of the thing they like
for relgious types, it's their imagry and icons. for mac fanatics, it's the shiny shiny boxes and dock icons.
for soccer fans it's the sight of 11 men getting sweaty together and for world of warcraft players it's a can of mountain dew
used my psion series 3 everyday when i had it - awesome machine and as the article says, the only machine to ever adequately replace the filofax.
replaced it eventually with a series 5
so strange that its only now with smartphones that we're getting back to being close to the functionality that these little machines provided us with back in the 90s
i thought it was a refreshing change to see a film that used the 3D when it was required and useful, not using every minute to try and find a reason to throw objects at the camera. I'd say because of it's lack of overuse, it's probably the 3D film I've enjoyed the most so far.
in as far as it was a big hit for Dave the channel.
Apparently it drew in record numbers of viewers for the channel. Probably not close to the numbers that watched the show in BBC3 at it's peak, but for Dave it did well. And that translates directly into record numbers of viewers of the adverts that were showing in those slots, which allows Dave to charge more from the advertisers, and so fund the new series.
Lister: What d'ya think of Betty?
Cat: Betty Rubble? Well, I would go with Betty... but I'd be thinking of Wilma.
Lister: This is crazy. Why are we talking about going to bed with Wilma Flintstone?
Cat: You're right. We're nuts. This is an insane conversation.
Lister: She'll never leave Fred, and we know it.
You bunch of depressing smegheads! Have some optimism for once! You're acting like someone just told you there's no silicon heaven!
This is quite possibly the best news I've heard since... since they announced the Back To Earth special.
Which, admittedly, wasn't as good as everyone hoped, but i enjoyed it. It was a lot better than the last series of the show, even if it didn't hit the highs of the all time classic episodes.
Still, whatever they produce, it'll be a HUGE amount better than the dross that was Hyperdrive and anything else sci-fi that's been on telly recently.
So have some faith you lot! It'll be great! It says so in Space Corps Directive 34124
apart from outside the US
and apart from on an iPhone (no iOS player app yet, web player doesn't work on iOS Safari)
and apart from your work pc which is likely behind sufficient firewalls and site blocking to prevent you getting connected to the Cloud Drive
So I can use it at home then. Where I currently have all my mp3s on my home computer and can play them instantly wihtout having to wait for stream-lag or for non-peak-periods when my ISP isn't throttling my bandwidth.
so yeah, fantastic idea Amazon
so it'll always be able to run Android apps that are one version behind the latest android release?
you'll have to wait for RIM to release an update to their app player?
so, why not just get a fully android tablet and not have any restrictions or delays
also, the article seems to suggest you can only buy the android apps through the blackberry store? so they're only going to allow certain apps to be available?
there seems to have been a never-ending string of Headphone reviews.
when will we get a decent earphone reviews? i don't want to walk around like a throwback to the 70s with big heavy cans on my head, i want some nice lightweight in-ear-phones that give reasonable sound and also the y shape lead that goes around the back of the neck (which seemed to be the only style available in the 90s) and not the Y style that seems to have come back into fashion despite it's prevelance for getting caught in thinks and pulling the 'phones sharply out of my ears
I'm hoping it'll be more like Sneakers - I can see Christian Slater in the Robert Redford role, just a bit more extreme and amusing.
Trouble is, Slater has bad luck with tv shows, even the ones I like (like My Own Worst Enemy) get cancelled, so I'm worried about this one.
it's a Psion Series7!!!!
god i loved my Series5
but that was because it would fit in my jacket pocket and was very easy to type and navigate both while holding in the hands and lying on a table.
I'm pretty sure the Series7 didn't work because it was too big to work well as a hand held unit, just not portable enough.
and i wonder if that will be the same problem with this Asus. Just too big to be a portable tablet, so why not just get a netbook instead, and have the easy of a full OS and a mouse pointer?
So "end of life" doesn't actually mean end of life? If a product is EOL'd, doesn't that mean that it's no longer supported?
Besides, if you're _that_ worried that the websites you visit are going to be maliciously crafted to pwn your iPhone then you should pony up and upgrade to a current model like the rest of the world has.
I guess that's the trouble with reporting on rumour stories, they are, afterall, just rumours.
Seems the "delays" aren't going to happen and everything is on course.
Does anyone else get the feeling that perhaps these analysts were just trying to move the stock market prices for themselves?

You see what you've gone and done now?
The article is inaccurate and wrong and as a result you've raised the blood pressures of all those 'droidtards above.
You're killing your readship y'know, slowly by slowly, day by day.
(Actually, I've no problem with that - the world would be a nicer place with less bile-spitting Android fanatics and more happy Apple enthusiasts, but this method is surely going to take too long to bear appreciable results)
For what it's worth, not that anyone will read this, SaaS apps aren't included in the 30% subscription tax
