Works for me

I have had the iPhone 4 for about a week now, no dropped calls or weird signal issues. Proximity sensor works fine, screen has even color. I do have the bumpers but wanted them anyhow since they make the phone more comfortable to hold for long periods. My only complaint would be the absurd price for the bumpers. Since the antenna problem is repeatable on naked iPhones, I do think Apple should offer the bumpers free with the phone. They have enough profit margin to make that happen. With bumpers on, phone is problem free.

Linux on the consumer desktop is a waste of time

It makes as much sense as OpenVMS or AS/400 on the desktop. You can't be all things to all people, Linux should focus on the heavy industrial iron where it excels. Grandma doesn't want to think about kernel revisions, /dev, or whether she's running KDE or Gnome.

Like all species in the ecosystem, find your niche and thrive in it. Servers are where Linux belongs.

Shouldn't Google open source all of its server code?

Google hasn't opened sourced their search code because it contains trade secrets. If they want Adobe to open source their flash code, let them first open source all of their server code and share it with the world. Seems fair.
