US Navy sailor swaps sea for cell after accepting bribes from Chinese snoops

Evil_Medic

Re: Only $14K?

I've wondered about the low sums as well, and a few other possibilities come to mind (not mutually exclusive).

1: His handlers didn't want him to attract attention though big-ticket purchases or suspicious banking activity. This is frequently what puts otherwise competent crooks on the RADAR.

2. His handlers could have provided motivation through veiled threats regarding any relations still in China.

So, what IS the worst film ever made?

Re: every

Well Sir, I generally agree.

However, "O Brother, Where Art Thou" was based on Homer's Odyssey-and if watched with that in mind, can actually be pretty hilarious.

WTF?

Umm...

They won't give the mice back as they were "treated badly"- apparently by being passed through a space larger than they.

Yet their fate is undecided-who else bets they'll be euthanized?

The Burgman is a 650cc heavy scooter, which in this case has been downgraded to 125cc performance?

Much as I applaud these emergent concepts, and I love motorcycling, this offers a massive sacrifice of performance, money and the issue of trying to find the legendary H2 fillup station.

Ive heard this little ditty...

My Bonnie looked into a gas tank.

The height of its contents to see.

She lit a small match to assist her.

Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me.

Oh and @ Northern Monkey:

Kinda ironic of you to make fun of all we Americans, where if you'd read the full article prior to posting, you'd see the tank was not the cars, but a portable tank in the cabin-like for a lawnmower. Still incredibly stupid of her- instructions even posted to place all containers on the ground for filling-but read before posting.

Interesting...

Front and rear seem oddly similar to a Buell Blast 500cc-may use off-the shelf components. A shame that the performance is currently that of a 50cc vespa, combined with the price of a full touring bike.

That said, I think this is a great first step, and hope that others will follow with improved performance.

Still made no sense, as the "mole" would seem to be using said avoidance techniques to prevent disseminating inside info.

Women's lust for shopping linked to periods

Article incomplete

Strangely, the article makes no mention of how shopping habits compare with the follicular phase.

-Pine quizzed 443 women aged between 18 and 50 about their spending habits. Nearly two-thirds of the 153 participants who were in the luteal phase "admitted they had bought something on an impulse and more than half said they had overspent by more than £25".

Homer- Loser? Loser?!!!

Ahem; a look at his CV:

-10+ year career at nuclear power plant, saved it from meltdown at least twice.

-Still on wife #1, 3 kids.

-Owned security company, shortly thereafter became Springfield police chief.

-Mayor of "Old Springfield".

-Country music singer manager.

-Missionary.

-As "Mr. X": underground blogger-before the wretched 'B' word existed.

-Tow truck driver.

-US Naval reservist (the nuclear sub incident can be excused as it was his "first day").

-Plant employee union leader-succeeded in reinstating dental plan.

-Toured with band Smashing Pumpkins.

-Worked with Mel Gibson to improve remake of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

-Was blasted into space, and safely returned.

So, anyone else wanna watch the side impact test videos for this thing?

In all seriousness however, I'm at a loss as to Chrysler's intended market. Recent articles in el Reg detail at least somewhat practical EV's, and suddenly they throw a golf cart cart at us?

There's no indication that this is strictly for EU release, and around here (upstate NY) the only time one could push the speed limit in this thing (not to be confused withe the VW Thing) is an elementary school zone, or tooling around a University campus. And before someone mentions city dwellers, is one expected to run an extension cord out the apt. window all night or use one of the 3 parking garages with power points?

Oh, and apologies for feeding the trolls, but this Yank does distance cycling.
