Why do you think European Union is moving most of its employees to iPhone, and HTC.

As for protecting users Blackberry didn't mind sharing security "features" with China, and few other countries. Also, their so called "security" is nothing more then forcing Blackberry users' to sign "data contract" with mobile providers.

Arrogant Jerk

Two years ago I made the mistake of buying a brand new laptop without doing a research. This notebook Sony Vaio come with Vista, and within five minutes of the opening the box I install Linux, and dual boot with downgrade XP SP3. At the time Microsoft bribe every notebook maker, and hardware manufacture to make devices solely for Vista. This notebook -- hardware wise okay, but Sony refuse to make most of the driver for xp -- external vga, fn function, and more.

I learned my lesson, never buy a laptop from a store -- buy a business notebook which allows you to downgrade, and matte -- anti glare screen. The key is customization -- yes you pay more, but you get the best deal.

I use my laptop mostly outside -- near windows. So glossy screen is not good for me.

Now what does this have to do with iPhone? Read the reviews from other customers, and do some research before throwing away your hard earned money. In fact save some money, and buy it on cash -- no data contract, or any other for that matter.

I love my iPhone, but that's doesn't mean that I'll swallow anything coming out of Jobs' mouth, or Steve Ballmer for that matter.

Be gone AMD

AMD was at its peak in 90s. This 2010, they are garbage now. I don't like intel either, but face why pay for something that's not worth much in near future?

You buy a laptop, and in three years when you see a better notebook, and you wanna sell the old one. No one gonna AMD. It's all about investment.

You'd thing our leaders would learn from history.

Crusaders, and Knight try were killing, raping, and slaughtering people of middle-east "in the name of god", now samething expect calling it "fighting for freedom & democracy".

As for fighting Iran, that would really be amusing, Iranian would be shut off gas pipeline, or destroy Ghwar by bombing it (world's largest oil province), and this would destroy the earth's atmosphere. Not to mention bring peak oil.

Put OSX (Snow Lepard) on it

If big brother Job decided to put osx (the laptop version) on it, I'd buy it. Of course I'ld wait until I the misunderstanding have been cleared out. a la death grip of iPhone.

Jesse Dorland
Linux

To each is his own

Don't get me wrong iPad is a beautiful device. However, it's too expensive, and the OS is not based on laptop -- it's based on iPhone/iPod. This mean Mr. Job gets to control what you put in the device.

Also iPad doesn't support Advanced Wireless Services, also known as AWS-1 or UMTS band IV, so you can't use it with any new provider (specially here in North America).

Oh, and let's not forget -- this device is cross between mobile phone & computer, and yet it does have been 100gig of space...

I'll reiterate, Laptop/PC base osx would have been better, more option for what we can install.

Give the devil his due

I am Linux user by default, so I am no big fan of Mr. Job$. However, I would answer a question another poster have asked why would you spend your money on a phone like this? The simple you get what you pay for. You get a phone, mp3 player, and organizer, and not to mention email, web browser with wifi, and finally games!

All of these things can be organized with iTune without any major difficulty. Believe me guys I have tried blackberry sync apps, Motorola (a paid app), and few more. Nothing comes close to be as simple as iPhone. Nothing. Yes apple is draconian, Orwellian, and they make Stalin look like a church choir boy. Over all its best of two world.

Finally, as an iPhone user I am very happy to see that apple is shipping unlock phone with quad band. As soon as they start selling unlock phone AWS phone (hopefully with 200 Gig space). I’d buy it in a heart beat.

Apple selling unlock phones means they are taking Google android seriously.

NASA orbiter snaps Apollo 12 landing site

Jesse Dorland
Linux

Don't insult conspiracy ppl

How come NASA orbiter didn't take lunokhod picture?

For the uninitiated Lunokhod was the first of two unmanned lunar rovers landed on the Moon by the Soviet Union as part of its Lunokhod. Some of these machines are bigger compare to NASA stuff on "moon".

There’s nothing wrong with doubting in a government. Obama promised the public job security on more than one occasion. However, once he came in power he picked up where Bush left off. How about WMD in Iraq? All things considered, being suspicious of the government is healthy, and it’s well justified. I am quite sure our buddy Orwell would have added some chapters in his marvelous book 1984. Remember, how big brother used Television as a weapon to control the mind of its citizen?

Like it or not nothing short of live landing on moon -- all the way from launch - to landing would shut anyone up. I never cared for Moon landing hoax, but I've more respect for them than those who disses them. After all it takes guts to stand up, and call this national icon "hoax". Specially, anyone who doesn't agree with government is called terrorist sympathizer.

Finally, there are some good reason not to take "NASA" version seriously. The original tapes -- which recorded the landing on the moon, and playing golf and all the that are "missing". According to NASA, they got lost in Australia. These were black and white, but very much like HD quality.

Let's be fair guys

Microsoft insulted its customer more than once -- and will likely to do it again in near future. Nonetheless, they have every right to "celebrate" the stupidity of their customers. After all before Vista, they had MS Office Ads insulting their users, calling them dinosaurs for sticking with Office 2003, or older. Now, they got away with Vista.

Other side of pound we have our beloved Steve Jobs, we know how friendly Apple PC would be if they own 90% of the world market.

At least Spammers know how to spell a name!

Got to love how spammers are able to spell Somalian name!

U in English normally essential after a q. It was added to the name of Nunavut’s capital, changing it from Iqaluit to Iqualuit, in a press release by Prime Minister’s staff.

As any Canadian would know by now that name of Nunavut’s capital, Iqaluit, means many fish in Inuktitut. However, when that extra u is tacked on after the q, the meaning suddenly changes to “people with unwiped bums,”. Just google "unwiped" in the news section!

Apple needs Hercules for advertisement

Here in Canada I used to work in an awful convenience store, they had a tablet -- PC based. This was used for ordering, checking stocks, and other business related applications. Virtually, all convenience store in Canada and America have similar tablet.

Apple will have hard time popularizing "iTablet".

Here are two simple reasons:

#1 Business community prefers tablets with "changeable battery". Apple hates giving such option to their customers. Steve Jobs would gladly throw his grandmother to the wolves than give loons option of changing gadgets’ batteries.

#2 Business community desire matte screen tablet -- all apple products including iPhone are "glossy". With iPhone it’s hard to see during bright sun light. This is why Blackberry can not be replaced by iPhone. MacBook, iPhone, iPod Touch are so reflective that you can use them as shaving mirror! Until, last years they didn’t believe in “anti-reflective” LCD. Sadly, problem still persists, and Apple in their usual “democratic” way is “reasoning” with unhappy customers.

As you can see, this device is already in use in business community. In today's economy with Apple's pricing is not going to be easy -- save for few Mac worshipers.

US regulators probe wireless competition

Jesse Dorland

Don't hold your breath

If FCC was really serving public’s interest. It would argue something like this; land line telephone cost like $15 a month, basic package including unlimited incoming & outgoing calls. Phone companies are able to make profit, even when they have to fix, repair, and replace wires, and pay licensing fees.

How come they charge so much for wireless? Simple answer is greed. Government would go after them and smash them into little bells like AT&T.

It ain’t gonna happen.

I am in Canada right now, and situation on the south of our border is about the same. This means something like this.

Major ISP provider in Canada are charging us by Megabyte, or Gigabytes. There used to be a options so called "unlimited", but that is gone. To make matter worst internet providers are reducing the speed of certain applications, and at the same time denying internet access to file sharing software -- say torrent, or emule, and even youtube.

Amazingly Rogers even charges "system access fees" this used to be for only "cell phone", but now it's for everything -- Internet, cable, homephone, and of course cell phones..

Long story short, my neighbors will same the same policy implemented in all of their states in the name of "economic recovery".
