Something you could consider is the art of foraging for food.
Seek out websites such as eatweeds. (I imagine there are spanish specific sites with similar ideas)
Wild herbs. the leaves, flowers. roots and/or seeds of certain plants (and with some care, the odd mushroom) could supplement your diet.

I believe the Sinclair BASIC method of string splitting is VASTLY superior to the crippled crappy Commodore method. I think Dunny only added those retarded commands to pander to the people unfortunate enough to have had to endure Microsoft BASIC (of which Commodore BASIC was one dialect).
The Sinclair method is clear and simple, no need to differentiate between left right and middle.
take something off the beginning? PRINT A$(TO 5)
take something off the end? PRINT A$(5 TO)
take something out of the middle? PRINT A$(3 TO 7)
And with the use of such functions as LEN, you could do all kinds of things with that simple format,.

I know it's wrong, but it stops all the "where's the centre of the universe" questions. The centre of the universe is the big bang.
Of course, using this model the universe looks a very weird shape indeed to residents of the "surface" cos light takes so long, so they pereive themselves to be on the "far away from the centre" skin, and then see the skin shrivel and shrink towards the centre as they look back in time.
I wonder if we'll ever be able to look back fat enough to see something CLOSE to the big bang. I know the microwave background radiation is that, but something as the first stars formed perhaps...

I had problems with orange too, a few years ago when I moved off dialup to broadband.
I'd been with freeserve for a few years, they then got swallowed by orange.
Eventually, I decided to switch to NTL Broadband so cancelled my surftime account.
Next phone bill... still being charged.
Phoned orange, said I'd cancelled last month, they said "you need to inform BT that you cancelled the surftime". Phoned BT "That's orange's responsibility"...
Wash, rinse and repeat for 6 months, continuing to charge me during that time.
FINALLY got it sorted, dunno how now.

Besides, the whole point of warp drive is the ship is not travelling at FTL in the traditional sense.
It's warping space around it so the space itself, the "warp bubble" enclosing the ship travels FTL while the space within the bubble the ship's going at sublight.

I think you mean printed books are BETTER for the environment.
Think of it, each tree chopped down is space for another tree to grow. And rather than allowing the tree to rot releasing greenhouse gasses, it is instead converted into a permanent carbon sink in the form of lots of books.
The forests continue to grow, taking up more CO2... Once a tree is mature it's no longer a carbon sink, so chopping them down is GOOD.
I don't think it bricks boxes. It's just that old freeview (especially original ondigital and ITV digital boxes can no longer pick up any channels at all. The band's been shifted out of their range, possibly the codec's been updated to something less bandwidth hungry too...
I know the original ondigital boxes don't work because south wales had the analogue turn-off earlier this month and that's when mine stopped working.

It's been going on for years. In the 70s/early 80s, they changed the rules on learners, reducing the maximum CC for a learner bike to 125 (it used to be 250), then they limited the horsepower for a bike to be learner legal. Then they made the tests harder, and harder, and harder...
All the while, car driving tests remained the same.
NOW they've implemented a NEW set of tests which can only be taken at dedicated test centres hundreds of miles away from people wanting to TAKE the tests and the tests themselves have been deemed dangerous causing several broken limbs in the first couple of weeks of operation.
At one point they were trying to make it illegal to drive a bike without leg protectors. MAG campaigned against and won that one.
Add to that the NWP attitude (stop any bikers you see whether they're doing anything wrong or not and let's try to get bikes banned from snowdonia national park) and it's bound to lead to a bit of paranoia.

Wasn't there news several YEARS ago about algorithms used to find porn by analysing a picture for over abundance of flesh tones?
Shirley that technology must've improved enough to be useful by now? OK, they'd need to pipe every single video through something that could strip it to frame-by-frame images and scan them individually, or perhaps scan only the ones where a sudden scene change occurs.
It might not be 100% and might flag a lot of false positives but if they were then send on to a human reviewer, it could make it easier by eradicating the vast majority of new vids from the search.

Mostly ARM but there was a report last week about a spanish netbook powered by MiPS.
At the beginning of the series, red dwarf had been found... flying on an exploritory mission in the starbug's laundry basket populated by krytens self-repair nanites (they'd taken the ship, and converted most of its mass into a small moon... After kryten gave them a strict telling off, they recreated red dwarf, along with all the dead crew (including rimmer).
The last episode ran something like this (to refresh your memories)...
Red Dwarf got infected with some metal eating superbug.
The science department developed a portal into a mirror universe which Lister entered, to find everything reversed, he was the captain, the captain was as useless as lister is normally, cat was a genius, etc.
The mirror universe had an antigen that could kill off the superbug on "our" red dwarf, so dave took the formula, but when he travelled back through the portal, it transformed to the formula of the superbug itself, leaving the dwarf doomed.
In the last scene, cat, lister and kryten made it through the portal to escape red dwarf's destruction, but a vending machine that had it in for rimmer prevented him from going through when the ship blew up (meaning yep, he's dead again).

Lever = noun and verb.
Leverage is a noun only. Always has been, and in spite of all the marketting morons out there, I refuse to acknowledge it as anything else.
Correct usage. "I've tried shoving this crowbar under it, but my feet keep slipping and I can't get any leverage"
