Re: Binance’s CEO, reiterated the apology and claimed everyone's money is OK

Apple retains mass market appeal.
The secret to appealing to the masses, is to pander to pretentious wankers.
One of the android phone manufacturers - probably samsung, ran a campaign a few years back touting their latest toy... and the skinny, hipster bearded young man wails "I cant use that - I'm creative!", and the pretty young slightly non anglo saxon, woman responds "You're a barista".
The walled garden exists because everyone inside is disdained (polite version) by the people outside.
You dont choose an iPhone for your parents because of their competence with technology...
Courtesy, common sense, and communication..
Communication.
Firstly - you tell your drone people you have anti-drone equipment active, and your anti-drone guys that you have drone operations on, If you arent communicating, you arent an army, you are just a mob.
Courtesy
Drone guys avoid harrassing your own troops, anti-drone guys dont fire on targets without reasonable suspicion - Both should escalate any sightings up the chain of command.
Common sense
If it looks at you funny -Kill it immediately.
China has one of the best aviation saftey records on the planet
.. it also has one of the best Covid 19 health records on the planet.
..
because 'the record' is just whats written down.
Between the orange idiot and pooh bear each trying to score political points, real facts had a higher mortality rate than slum dwellers in Brazil or India during the Delta wave.
They are learning from past mistakes. They find the things people hate, and elevate them. they find the bits people find useful, and remove them.
Each iteration is even worse than the previous..
"How can they achieve such greatness ? Because they are standing on the shoulders of giants...
If you want to get a response, the complaint would best come from the teenage girls, with potential escalation to tabloid media involvement.
This would rouse the torch and pitchfork contingent... but also increase the number of supposed creeps from 2 (+ Amazon) to thousands...
basically the nuclear option, with only cockroaches as winners
committing the sin of feeding the troll, but..
Sure there are media organisations that dont let reality interfere with a desired narrative ... here in Oz the one I see is Sky, but the difference is we have access to alternatives.
If you are willing to stick your head outside of your echo chamber, you can see different interpretations of the 'facts', or information that is ignored or suppressed by people promoting a particular agenda.
Get your news from multiple sources - not just different outlets of the same source - apply rational discrimination and judgement (previously trading under the name of 'common sense').
Is it actually news you want, or just another scripted reality show..
While your arguments about "the West" and its poor behaviour are mostly valid, their weight is diminished by the (non-west) political leadership striving to emulate them.
There are several "developing" countries with rich resources that could be prosperous and good places to live - but instead their best and brightest are devoting their energy to getting the hell out, because the local rulers have turned it into a shit hole. This isnt because of colonialism - its because the colonial powers moved out, and the tribal factions took over.
"Capitalism has mixed results and can be very unfair, not very inclusive"
yes, Capitalism is great for the capitalists, but utterly sucks for the workers
Every *ism is great for the relevant *ist, because basically every governing power structure exists for the enforcement of privilege.
Communism and Socialism never got off the ground - they were hijacked by totalitarians right at the beginning. Democracy was stolen by the capitalists - because somebody had to be in charge, and all those competing voices werent achieving anything...
The world has recently seen the rise of various populist sociopaths who can freely tell people whatever they want to hear while dismantling or discrediting any checks on their power.
Low gravity is only one of the stumbling blocks on the path to colonising space - and probably the easiest to clear.
Others include getting materials there, keeping the vacuum outside of the habitat, and radiation in all its spectrum, are more immediate in effect.
Building habitats below the surface is just far more practical.
And definitely limit the scope of the centrifuge to human maintenance necessities - until such time your moon colony has sufficient surplus to support extravagances
users whose life is not dedicated to worship and cuddle their OS (only people using a penguin icon like that)
Penguins are cute and cuddly (in popular culture, as opposed to malodorous, noisy, reality), whereas all but the most dedicated self-harm hobbyists realise hugging broken glass is a stupid idea.
Unless there is a fundamental shift in how we input data it's not going to work
This is zuckerbergs secret key to success.
Facebook has already collected all the data, so no need for any new inputs.
Any concept of bringing new stuff in - except through a multi-billion dollar project controlled by Meta - is crazy subversive talk, needing to be stamped out swiftly and decisively.
The other surveillance-capitalism powerhouses will be happy enough to imitate the model - you wont notice the absence of choices if the wallpaper is pretty enough.
There are 1,000 square miles of eastern Europe
So an area 32 miles by 32 miles ( i feel dirty even writing 'miles')
You can live there - you just wouldnt want to. Probably a better chance of getting shot in the USA than dying early there.
As for Fukushima,
Fukushima is going to dump contaminated water into the ocean because it has run out of space
.. if you love something, let it go..
Honestly, you cant keep stuff forever, so after a bunch of half-lifes, and suitably diluted, and monitored, dispersal is an effective tool for harm mitigation.
Just think of poor Endor and all the shit left in orbit after the Rebel Alliance blew up the second Death Star....
3 things.
1) The battle fleets were not in stable orbits, being engaged in powered manoeuvring.
2) The inhabited point of interest is actually one of the moons of the Endor gas gaint, which will help clean up any loose space-going trash and make it very unlikely for stable orbits to develop
3) The inhabited moon has an atmosphere, which both acts to de-orbit nearby small items, and protect the surface and anyone living there.
and finally and most importantly.
Science does not apply to Star Wars. Its Space Opera, not science fiction.
The west's dependence on oil or gas sources controlled by regimes that range from dodgy to outright evil..
the USA becomes a net EXPORTER of oil again, which we were doing a couple o' years ago, and EASILY can, again
... exactly.
Not sure you deserve those downvotes, unless people are taking exception to the word "quality"
Whilst agreeing with the sentiment - and upvoting the original post- the part I did find irritating was describing software as "äpps"
I know this puts me out of step with the youngsters - but I dont feel any need to pander to their sensitivities (in the absence of sensibilities), so fuck em.
