Handing over emails in an Irish server to the FBI will spark a global free-for-all, warns Microsoft

DAT EXCEPTIONALISM!

Same attitude as for FATCA and AIR PASSENGER REPORTING really. It's all owned by US!

The counter from the US government's lawyers was that withholding the data would let criminals and fraudsters evade American prosecutors by sending their data offshore.

America has less than total jurisdiction over the globe! What did the Empire of Bases buy then? Can't something be done??

Roll up, roll up: Microsoft, those Irish emails and angry Feds

Absolutely. But you have to do it in winter, using only vi and going uphills both ways. And no ordering books at amazon, you have to PERSONALLY drive to a shop 120 miles away and demand that their ordering process take three months and that they lose the package in transit. Erlang was also a town in Germanysome weird-ass country in a prolonged post-war-crispy-bacon scenario, but then again Java was some Island that could be found in the Pacific, Oracle was a professional occupation held by crazy, drugged-up females from ancient Greece while Sun was a big yellow ball in the sky. Later, we also had Plan 9 (a movie) and Limbo (something an Italian once wrote a book on). Penguins were found in Antarctica only etc.

I also want to set limits on what and how much an AWS key can be used for.

1) Use a specific credit card

2) Amazon tells you often to use three-factor auth for the root account

3) Use separate IAM users with specific permissions for specific tasks (this takes some getting into and also queries on stackoverflow, but the interface is really nicely done)
