People do not want to think, they want to buy or be seen as having worth, the mechanics behind social media hold zero interest for them.... They just want to be to be popular, to be "liked", to imagine that they have their 15 minutes of fame.. Nothing new here really, it's been that way since homo sapiens got together as tribes...

But the true culprit is the advertising business, they are the ones pushing for more data, metrics.. Google/Facebook etc would have no business if advertising did not bring in revenue...

I get the impression that we will soon be trailing behind the Chinese in many areas... If we trail behind then in relation to the internet then will soon become relegated to second rate states.

49M for 35000 users means a very expensive version of Windows 10... 1400 Euros per head...

Just what does this 1400 cover exactly.. Ok there will be servers and licences etc but that seems damned expensive especially when we consider that this will be a EASL/Open licence....

Correction : The article states that the museum will display it to everyone. It's only Naples that put the under 14 ban into place.

The large majority here in France no longer allow any modifications to the (supplied) routers either.. It's annoying because the routers here are actually quite complete and offer a lot of other options as standard, NAT/PAT,DDNS, reasonable Firewall rules etc.

Personally I never understood why the body was so very quickly dumped at sea... The greatest terrorist in the 21 century and we simply dumped his body... very strange methods here. Why didn't they use the body as a propaganda tool, or at the very least try and study its DNA in order to establish if there were scientific reasons behinds acts etc..

I have not read any full verifiable reports and from what it available it is indeed very difficult to know whether the real Osama Bin Laden was actually killed, whether it was a setup etc etc.. The conspiracy theorists definitely have point and I personally don't know how to determine what is truth from fiction. None of us we there and nothing remains to establish proof.

Just like 911 we will never be allowed to learn the whole truth.. I won't argue about any of this though as those that actually know probably don't want the rest of the world to know the whole story.

This phrase applies to "everyone" in the company, from users, to admins, to directors. Keeping people aware can make a huge difference, it has a cost but it far outweighs the cost of repairing a comprised system.

No it wouldn't make any difference because regardless of the method/address/spoofing that is used as soon as one of them reaches one of these servers it will create an alert.

The idea is actually quite simple and is just a "honeypot" is disguise, instead of offering HTTP/FTP/Telnet services it is offering files related services..
