When I called to get a PAC code from o2 they offered me this handset as an alternative to the HTC hero, I told them to get stuffed.. They told me that it was going to launch around the end of the month (think he said 28th but not 100% on it)

If you want an Android phone you have the option of:

Samsung Galaxy - o2

HTC Hero - Orange & T Mobile (called the g2 touch)

HTC Magic - Vodaphone

Android is on pretty much all carriers, surely 3 will get one soon enough.

Doubt this one will sell as Samsung have been making some pretty dodgey phones recently..

I've had the HTC Hero (branded the G2 touch on T-Mobile) for just over a week now and agree with the reviewer. Really does need more RAM, especially when using the messaging widget which can become laggy if you have a long conversation by text.The flash player is OK, still not 100% but a step forward. Whilst the web browsing is pretty much everything you could want from a mobile phone. It does require a reboot every couple of days to speed it up a little bit, but appart from that its a great phone. All of the services listed in the review were on the handset that I recieved from Tmobile.

The barmy antics by Apple in the management of the software available for Apple products is just insane. They are limiting small developers and pissing off users. The naziesque policies, plus annoying tariffs are why I opted for the HTC hero/ tmobile f2f touch.

View Points from a shop worker

I've worked selling alcohol for last 3-4 years and I can assure you that its a bigger headache to the staff than it is to you. There are posters in the store that I work (reasonable large frozen food company) telling the staff if you serve under 18s its a £10,000 fine, which you will be expected to pay. Hell I earn £6 an hour, if you want your booze and don't look old then no booze for you, pretty simple.

With military ID i'd be likely to accept it (because the cops can't pull fake ID), and treating one of "our boys" in such a manner is disgraceful. Oh and if your challenged for ID and you don't have it, then you can't buy the alcohol without the shop/cashier committing an offence.

Under 18's need authorisation from 18+ y/o staff to serve alcohol.

Whos to blame?

The police have to uphold the law, its there job.. So do we blame the coppers for this or the numptys in westminster that wrote it..

Now the reason they had to act could be some jumped up Scientology lawyers made a complaint and cited the act and the subclause, the plod checked it and had to act.. Of course the good old Scientologists wouldn't do THAT.
