Re: Everyone forgets the rules, don't they?
Unfortunately most people don't know the rules or even that there are rules, beyond... Thou shall not troll.
As far I am aware, not one single website that stores user data states in the plain native language of country of target audience exactly what happens with and to that data. Other than it might be shared with 3rd parties and "our partners". Along with promises of security that cannot be met.
Trust needs to be placed in the Internet for the commercially desirable oil data to flow. Honesty about the robustness of Internet infrastructure and the fact that a few of those foible inflicted humans have complete control over that data is never mentioned.
Of course should the truth be told and that it is security by obscurity that assists the protection of much data... you are but a needle in a haystack of needles. (I know the needles are getting easier to find)
Never will you read in the T&C's...
We have no clue what happens to your data after we have shared it.
Should our IT admin develop a gambling/drug habit or is blackmailed we cannot guarantee the security of your data.
We are working on a budget to be competitive, we can't afford to hire expert coders or finance a full blown pen test. We believe our systems are secure because Nancy in HR who did a Wordpress class has tested them.
