A remake?

Survivors would be bad enough as an original bit of TV, but now I discover it's a remake... Anyone else remember the good old days when we could bemoan the Beeb funding pseudo-SF-ish junk like this rather than bringing back Doctor Who?

VAT change is the new Y2K

Here's where we see how many of those fancy new websites cut corners by hardcoding the 17.5% VAT rate. Should be 'interesting.'

(And doesn't (most) VAT revenue go to the EU rather than the Treasury? So shouldn't the anti-Brussels lot be in favour of the move?)

Yeah, an Apple fanboi's nitpick...

The two-finger scrolling -- horizontal as well as vertical -- has been around on Mac laptops for a few years, at least since the iBook G4 launched in 2005. (Also, two fingers + single button = right click, but nobody seems to want to steal that one.)
