DVLA data powers likely to be abused by foreign officials

Gordon Pryra
FAIL

If this data is any use

Then people already have it.

Every "secure database" is wide open to the contractors who work on it.

If I were a foreign power trying to get these details, I would have already had them in a far easier to access format than DVLA are offering.

(I would probably also have been paid for 3 weeks work by DVLA into the bargain)

DVLA are not giving anything away that hasn't already been taken

Local Tory MP Paul Goodman

Local Tory MP Paul Goodman said: "Unless all BT staff members are entitled to participate in the trial on exactly the same terms, I think some of my constituents will find this very strange."

Yet the same guy also finds it very strange that some of his constituents had issues with the fact that they weren't taxed on exatly the same terms as himself?

Ralsky jailed for four years over stock fraud spam scam

He did ok out of it.

So he gave them $250k back , but he made $2.7 mill total?

Thats $48k a he keeps for every month in jail.

I know its only $ not £, but I still think thats worth it compaired to my wages and the amount of time is spend earning it.

UK jails schizophrenic for refusal to decrypt files

Gordon Pryra

The guy broke our rules, so he got jail. Simple

He broke a lot of rules

he had traces of high ex on him and didnt give a reason

he broke bail conditions

he attempted to obtain passports on a number of occasions

he refused to give up the encription keys to the authoritys when asked for them.

What are the police supposed to do?

What would you be saying if it turns out that he set a bomb off killing loads of kids and women?

Yes the majority of the people who have posted are from the "fcuk the police!!" camp, or the "I wish i could get out of this country" camp.

Combat games disrespect war laws, report claims

Gordon Pryra
FAIL

Idiots

People claiming there are any sorts of "war laws" in the first place just make themselves look stupid.

I understand what they are saying, but to try to demonize war games with the arguements that they disrespect war laws seems ironic.

Are these people therefore argueing that there is such a thing as a just war?

Or are they so hung up on their own children not being able to tell right from wrong that they will jump at any excuse to shift the blame for not bringing them up well onto someone/something else.

A computer game has so many rules compaired with real combat, where the best equiped and most numerious force rapes the women of the other side.

I've never quite understoood how all this was funded.

Have they built this thing on the back of it being built at some time in the future and it actually finances itself?

Any chance of me making a few bucks

By suing people who make brail books?

Obviosuly I can't read them and I should be able to do whatever I want.

This guy is after a quick buck, but his actions will make people who produce games/media etc just put a notice on their products saying "warning, requires full vision/hearing etc"

Far easier for them to do that than risk some idiot judge in America trying to make a name for himself with a wierd decision in court.

TalkTalk steps up attack on government

Gordon Pryra

talk talk have got a nerve

The brought One Tell,

My retrired parents use One Tell

I tried to use their internet connection and discovered they were paying 60 quid a month for a 512 connection.

I "spoke" to the talk talk customer services who promised to provide a real speed for their cash if they signed up for a 18 month tied in service (despite having been customers for years with One Tell)

So Talk Talk are willing to steal from retired people who dont understand what they are being sold, but won't charge 50p a month extra to poor people who shouldn't be wasting thier time online anyway?

Re: Does Colour Matter?

Yes of course,

I want to be able to read an E-Book with the same affect as the printed word. I know colour will not help achieve that, well maybe "yellowing" the pages with an "age" filter or something?

But I do know that the porn industry is the IT equivalent a war has on medical progress.

Give them colour to play with and they will invest in the industry, the quality will increase and off the back of it, i will have a reader that mimics a real book (or as near as can be)

Wikileaks publishes BNP 'member list' (again)

Gordon Pryra
FAIL

"Both Wikileaks and the BNP suggested some of the names listed may not be members."

That list is worthless then, what’s the point in leaking rubbish? It just means all the useful stuff they post is discredited by association with the website itself.

Which is sad for a website that serves such a useful purpose.

When the police are up against people with that sort of cash behind them, it is both suprising that its got as far as it has and interesting to see if any convictions occur.
