So? What's Your Point?
Use one of the 2/3 that work well. Simple.

RE: " .....Opera’s example, where a Windows XP user has rejected installation of IE 8 for the year it has been available but suddenly decides to install it is not realistic.”
I did exactly this five on machines right in my humble abode. Seems I had been completely ignoring IE in favor of FF. Then one day on the MS Update site I decide to h3ll with it and allow the update to IE8 for no particular reason. And I did it on our three desktops and two netbooks.
What the frakk makes Microsoft believe people do only their version of what's reasonable? Morons, just morons.
Do a search, Google works just fine, on the phrase china executes and read a few of the hits. China has a habit of KILLING people who violate their laws. Laws that in other parts of the world would garner a light sentence or fine if any punishment at all.
Keep it up Google and pretty soon you'll likely seal your own fate in a not too pleasant manner. I assume China's Google employees "in-country" are loyal. But to lose your life or freedom over something so meaningless as an internet search engine dispute is, well Darwinian in it's reward. But then, maybe the gene pool needs to be cleansed of these morons.
It's their country folks and you'd better recognize and respect who you're dealing with. Western high minded ideas and ideologies are not going to work with China. Remember, this is the country that to this day KILLS female babies. And there is NO punishment for that. Think that's just a web rumor? Think again. Or better yet, get your doubting a$$ over there and live for a while and see first hand.
So Microsoft offers what it has as choices, and in doing so reiterates that ODF is not going to be their preferred pick. Microsoft has made it very clear ODF will not be getting their full attention and support.
Looks to me the ODF pushers are just rankled at Microsoft's position on ODF and will take every opportunity to attack them on it. And they don't like the wording or its position in the panel. And here I was thinking the open source fanatics were intelligent enough to read and decide regardless of where something was placed on a screen. I guess they better hope the toilet paper roll is within their definition of easy reach at the next public place huh?
Paris because even Paris understands what's easy.
... high school for a number of years in the U.S. of A. during the early '70s, I came to two conclusions: 1.) the job itself was a dead-end with no future, no benefits and no support and 2.) the entire school system was populated by the lowest of the low in terms of ability, competency and general teacher and administrator qualifications. Since then I have had my beliefs confirmed time and time again.
Oh yeah, "We were doing wrong, but we stopped anyway". Morons and miscreants teaching our kids and we wonder why they turn out the way they do.
Ten machines (seven desk types; three netbooks) and no problems. Wish I knew what the frakk I did right. Or wrong as it were since so many far more intelligent and capable that me are having so many issues. I learned in corporate America we have no "problems" just "issues" and "opportunities".
Although I have seven genuine XP licenses installed and running on seven different machines, I've hidden (on the MS update site) and refused to install any update whose name contains the word "notification". I've done that ever since the first one came out.
Yeah, each new iteration of WGAN means I have to re-hide it but so what? I wash my crank every day and that's never been much of a bother. I fail to see why a little of consistent discipline with regards to this is a problem for anybody. Just do it. If for no other reason do it to buck Microsoft and be done with it.
...to be responsible and run some AV with regularity and consistency. Not to mention actually understanding your computer even just a bit. Computers are like babies, you have to feed them the right stuff and wipe their smelly behinds periodically.
The way I see it those that got the problem asked for it. Enjoy!!
What government would ever see fit to get involved in a college sports dispute ? Why the U.S. government of course. They've decided to get involved in the college football national championship effort (the BCS) so nothing is too small, or whatever, for O-Bama (get it? ... Bama?) to take control of.
Rest assured, the government of the good old U.S. of A. is ready, willing and able to jump into Apple's crap. And it matters not how small or private the situation may be ... control is control.
"Google" intended their name be "Googol" (the name for an extremely large number) but because of a very juvenile, marginally educated individual misunderstanding the intended name, it was misspelled yielding G-O-O-G-L-E. Sooooo...... in some places they retained the original intended name.
Don't you gurus know this?
"Don't Do Evil" is the same as "See No Evil" to Google. Once again, as long as there's money to be made, corporations like Google will all too often see no evil. Or maybe in G's case just not see some of the evil and let a little of it pass in order to line the boss's pockets.
And oh yeah, if you need privacy, maybe you just shouldn't be doing whatever it is you're doing. Google is Guilty.
You make a profit ONLY when revenue exceeds expenses. Cash flow is simply money flowing through the enterprise and is NOT the same as profit. A business can generate outrageous cash flow by borrowing a huge amount of money and then spend 100% of the loan. But if you don't eventually get to the point where you can pay all your bills and still have money in your pocket, you FAIL most miserably. Facebook is still failing financially. The only reason it still exists is because it is BELIEVED by investors to be a "good" risk. If the current "Buy" recommendation evaporates and becomes a recommendation to "Sell", Facebook will be gone. Or at least re-organized in hopes of emerging successfully from bankruptcy. That sound familiar to you???
Watch closely, the day of the permanent [worker bee] employee has passed. World wide, the new employment logic is now temporary employees with no benefits supplied by the company. Think this isn't correct??? Just watch and see what the corporations and smaller businesses have learned. It'll take most of this year, but it's here now and it's for real.
"Autism is a disorder of neural development that is characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior."
If that doesn't sound like Google then I guess I'm one of the deluded.
Look it up dude. Besides that, the author clearly states this is a quote from another individual. Wow, talk about shooting the messenger.
I got Enterprise Professional versions of Office 2003, Office 2007, Office XP and Office for MAC through my former employer for $19.95 eaxh (USD of course).
XP Home Full and XP Pro upgrade for some similar discount ... can't remember exactly.
Those are real discounts. All other offerings are simply bull hockey.
And here I was thinking the Mother Country was all about civility, justice and respect for the commoners rights. We got nothing on you guys when it comes to oppressive laws and Big Brother. After all, George Orwell was an English author and journalist
Good old GB has replaced USSR for me when it comes to freedoms and naming a country we could be living in to be worse off.
Yeah, the FCC drones have no lives either so they have to have their TV sports. Most sporty people I know first get angry then panic then revert to the fetal position.
Some of us actually have lives with three dimensional characters who live and breathe and love to go outside the home to actually do something. As opposed to living life vicariously through overpaid and overgrown little boys. Of course some of those little boys get their jaw cracked by some sort of club and it was kinda fun to watch that soap opera.
I'm glad members of my family have real lives. I'm not worried if the afterlife has TV sports, but I know some who are. Or is it h3ll that has no TV? Whatever.
