An American Werewolf returns to London

Sarah Bee (Written by Reg staff)

Re: Booo.....

The original was terrific - brilliant pastiche of old Brit comedy in places and groundbreaking effects. A remake will blow. But they are clearly desperate for anything that can be reheated.

But then, in some ways it's interesting to see new takes on old stories, even if it's not that enriching - I mean, the latest Jack Black film is an original idea, doesn't mean it's any good.

Hello boys - just to let you know I shall be especially strict today (yeah, yeah) so don't bother submitting anything horrible. Lightly offensive is fine, as ever, but try and stick to the point, and if you've got a conspiracy theory or some nasty crap you simply must get off your chest then tell it to Twitter cos it's not getting past me.

Here's an idea, Big-G - why don't you try refraining from clicking on any story with words like 'celebs' and 'topless' in the headline?

Alternatively, if you'd like, we can create a special version of the Reg just for you which we'll send to your inbox promptly at 9am each morning which contains nothing remotely amusing, frivolous or unconcerned with matters of consequence. Would you like that? And a biscuit? You may have a biscuit. Would you like a biscuit?

No no. It's too wrong to be fixed by a semi-colon. And the semi-colon is in the wrong place anyway.

Hey, let's have some kind of competition or something where you lot try and out-grammar each other in fixing the appallingly shoddy English of this millionaire movie director, and I offer an amazing prize of a shiny thing which I have no intention of awarding to anyone.

There's loads more to it, actually... most arguments that seem straightforward aren't in the least. That was kind of my point. But I'm glad you feel a throwaway comment composed in jest can sum up your position on a subject.

Anyway, not all whales are endangered, are they? And surely if animals are endangered, they've probably had it anyway, so you might as well scoff 'em while you have the chance, no?

Re: @The other AC

I don't have a problem with that, AC (and yes I can see who you are, although I doubt I could find where you live or anything). I think people should be allowed to do whatever the hell they want as long as there's consent and understanding that safewords are sacred and all that. The sad thing is that people who do this sort of thing using the net (I seem to recall one or two similar cases) will try to use that as a get-out - "but she said that's what she wanted", etc.

It's horrible for the men who think they're just having a sexual adventure and end up committing actual rape, although if they couldn't sense there was something wrong they probably ought not to be participating in extreme stuff - but then this is why anyone getting into that sort of thing needs to do serious boring homework first and meet up with the people who placed the ad. It's not worth the risks.

2) That no one has mentioned the unfortunate title of the film he was shooting in Bangkok.

Re: Return of the Mod

Untwist your knickers, Jon. I know how it works - a story goes up (and I'm not the editor, I don't decide what gets published) and I wrangle the comments. It's my job to decide when to start filtering out the repetitive dribblings. So that's what I'm doing.

And I was taking umbrage, if at all (I think 'issue' is more apposite) with Frank, whose comment was nutty. So hush your mouth.

Ha! I've been moderating here for 18 months or so and this is possibly the most uproariously daft and pompous comment I've ever seen. Do you belong to some sort of nature cult? I feel inclined to go out and get a great big tattoo and the laser eye surgery I've been toying with the idea of. Also, the ear thing - not a bad idea, I'd say.

Incidentally now I'm back in the chair I am damming this tide of drool. You've had your fun, boys.

Re: @ Chris C

Now, I haven't been moderating these myself, but what's all this? A debate about acceptable surgery? Whuh?

Do what you like to yourself, I say. Most women who have breast reductions don't do it out of vanity (although if you want to do it out of vanity, why not?) - it's because it's physically and/or psychologically uncomfortable. (Not that enormojugs get undue attention or anything - I mean, look at all the admiring comments in this thread, who could possibly complain?) This woman is doing it because it's physically incompatible with the life she wishes to lead.

Women having toes removed to fit into tiny shoes is fucked up, to my mind, but it's up to them. This isn't fucked up, to my mind.

Sorry, I meant to say - woo! See them jubblies fly! It's a crime against nature to lop 'em off! Send her over here, if she can't make money at pro tennis I'll see her right! etc.

Oh for fucksakes it's more complicated than that, don't just go 'if you eat one animal then you shouldn't complain about any others being killed under any circumstances ever cos otherwise you're the worst kind of hypocrite'. Engage your brain. Unless you'd rather not in which case, welcome, you're among friends here.

Still, this is the 4975967th time this kind of argument has played out here so I should just learn some kind of meditation technique, or something. Or maybe go and get a job in an abbatoir. Or a petting zoo. I see no conflict there, etc etc etc.
