Well done, UK.gov. You hit superfast broadband target (by handing almost the entire project to BT)

95% of the UK or GB? I get a MAXIMUM of 10Mb/s in BT23 ffs...

Paris Hilton

A Ben Dover DVD more like!

I bet it was actually filthy muck muck and he was too ashamed to say:

"Yes, I was on my way home to pummel the pudding to a vast compilation of dirt my friend obtained via p2p app's".

Still, lucky guy (apart from the loss of his filth).

Paris because she features in a dirty DVD, the wee harlot!

He'll give you good theories on why their numbers are dwindling...just don't tell him I sent you, in case he gets hundreds of emails on the subject! Poor wee fluffy Hymenopterans :'(

Can I get some of that paint?

Can they do that paint in Toyota code 8G2 so I can rid my 1992 Carina II of it's rust and slap some of it on her?

@ Robert Long

That's a VERY socialist stand and I agree whole-heartedly with it. If we all had nice routers with DD-WRT firmware we could be nice to our less well off neighbours and let them check their mail etc FOC!

No hallucinogenics on me this weather, it's gonna be another few months (and hopefully a nice summer) 'til the wee critters pop out of the ground to say hello ;)

@ Alyn- "We were designed as carnivores"?

I wasn't designed and neither were the rest of us Humans, we have evolved as a species! Nothing pedantic about correctly identifying the digestive abilities of a species either; think why our canines have become almost useless, our need for animal protein is almost nil and I've never had to keep a prey item in sight whilst chasing it from the supermarket isle to a shopping trolley.

I myself have been vegetarian for about 13 years and I think it's pretty safe to say I'm not going to be dying of colon cancer but it's more likely you artificially-recovered "meat" eating chaps quite possibly will. I like the view from my superior platform as well!

Learn to spell by the way, it hurts my brain trying to figure out if you're all trying to write yoghurt (not yogurt), where (not were) etc etc (I like being able to spell but I guess I've got a N. Irish education to thank for that)

Eat meat-increase your risk of colon cancer for starters and get that cholesterol into you! On another note, the meat industry belches out more CO2 than ALL the combustion engined vehicles on the planet so up yours meat eaters; I'll not feel guilty about driving increasingly more powerful petrol engined vehicles as the years roll in

That's nearly twice as fast as the shite the virgin mediocre puts me thru. I'm nearly always cut to 1Mb/s, from 4 (when they advertise throttling to 2), when I supposedly have downloaded over 700MB when in reality I upload about 100MB per day due to their ridiculous UL rate and have DL's absolutely diddly squat!

Hope the rest of you long suffering ADSL sorts get better service as well.

GM sees future: Cars and drivers full of booze

Liam O'Flaherty

@Karl Lattimer

Actually, we see a VERY close correlation between increasing mean global temperatures and CO2 released into the atmosphere by human activity, primarily the meat industry...which leads me onto the MASSIVELY inefficient use of land for cattle rearing which could yield about 10 times more food for human consumption and yes, let the cows wander about and die naturally...

If we manage to keep thawing the Northern ice cap and increasing the flow of very cold freshwater into the North Atlantic we could theoretically disrupt the Gulf stream's delivery of warm water to Eastern Europe which could have major effects on our Climate in this region, like converting the UK into a perennial Winter wonderland which I for one would not enjoy! I believe the research presented to me during the 4 years of my BSc Hon's Environmental Biology, via lecture format, to be rather accurate, but over what sort of time scale this could occur on I'm not sure.

Why should we keep altering the state of the planet and threatening the future of many species that are sensitive to water temperature and salinity and many insect species (that we rely heavily on as pollinators) so that we can drive increasingly larger combustion engined vehicles and eat cheap burgers when we could invest our efforts in healthy foods and looking after the only home we have? Buggered if I know!

YouTube biker clocked at 189mph

Liam O'Flaherty
Alert

Ooh, SOO reckless he went fast!

What is it with all these buffoons who have never travelled above the national speed limit, thinking that we'll all die and take half the county with us at the same time?

The rider in question here does nothing more than travel at a rather high speed and I would happily be his pillion passenger if he rides that well whilst travelling at/ under the rather ridiculous 70mph limit and would feel more comfortable travelling at over twice the national speed limit than at the national speed limit, or well below, than with either of my elderly parents with no reaction times!

I see NO reason for not travelling close to the rated speed for a car's tires if the vehicle is well maintained, the driver observes the conditions and is familiar with the handling characteristics of said vehicle; the only reason speed is slated as the main cause of accidents is that it is the most easily blamed and measured factor involved in accidents and can also be a handy revenue generating tool.

Are there any plans for our wonderful, forward thinking, noo labour government to put stupidity cameras up around the UK to catch idiots that want to drive into me at any given opportunity and extract money from them instead (as they can afford to pay fines seeing as they drive Porsche Cayennes)?

Stupid Western ISPs need to watch the Jap's 4 inspiration

This stinks, I believe this is happening due to the infrastructure simply not being anle to cope with all the traffic and ISPs not wanting to invest in lines to carry more data; my Virgin 4MB line is throttled to ONE MB instead of the 2MB advertised on their "traffic management" webpage and they send you round in circles between customer services and tech support who both say you need to contact each other to resolve the issue...which doesn't occur.

I would LOVE to be in the far east to get some sort of decent internet speed but I'll not have that chance for many years at which point I'll hopefully not need to bother!

ALL mp3s SUCK, end of story!

Thom Yorke speaks the truth, long live Radiohead! Once again they are setting the trend and getting that music industry out of their pockets; the music industry should work for musicians NOT the other way around :D

@ Christopher P. Martin

I've been in studios recording guitar/ vocals for over a decade so I am only too well aware of hi quality audio, and the cost of decent amplifying equipment, but even I (with reduced high frequency response from 15 years of gig attendance and performance) can tell the difference between a 320Kbps mp3 and a FLAC rip of a cd when using an onboard Realtek HD audio chip, a 24 year old Marantz stereo receiver (~£23 inc postage), a £20 Cambridge Audio interconnect, a pair of Infinity bookshelf speakers (£50) and Hellfrauds (Halfords) 2nd best speaker cable. I think you're listening to overly simplified music, try playing Heartwork by Carcass in mp3 format then try FLAC or even high quality OGG and the mp3 sounds TERRIBLE and washed out! Nasty old pop drivel/ house/ rave "music" is passable...but only just according to my informed ears

Did he not realize the machine could be switched OFF as well?

Would anybody with ANY degree of intelligence put any of their limbs in a machine such as that? I don't even go near my car's engine while it's running, let alone any of the combines I've worked beside this summer for the 1st time! Even a John Deere ride on mower stalls if you jump off without retracting the blade and putting the brake on, who made that death machine the inbred was riding about on?
