An American Libertarian is someone who wants to enjoy the benefits of services like national defence, firehouses and police, but doesn't want to pay the necessary taxes to provide them...
If you've already got an Android phone, then an Android tablet is a no-brainer as any apps you have bought for your phone are also available for free for your tablet... also any content you've bought on google play is also readily available as well without having to pay for it again...
Both my parents (in their late 70's) are using Linux now... they're sick and tired of windows borking itself and suffering from viruses and Windows 8 was the last straw...
I had great joy in wiping Windows 8 off their new laptops and sticking Cinnamon Mint on them instead and pulling down both XFCE & LXDE for them and defaulting them to LXDE for their desktops...
They were already using Firefox, Thunderbird & LibreOffice on their windows machines, so the transition was pretty painless.
If Microsoft had gotten their act together a few years ago, THEY could be the dominant Linux supplier with an official Microsoft Linux which had their apps officially supported on it via compatibility libraries. There is nothing stopping them from putting their own proprietary windowing solution on top of Linux.
But no, they had to try and kill Linux...
I could beam media files, contact details and apps across from my Palm M105 to other Palms ages ago over an infra-red link...
this patent is stupid. There's plenty of prior art and the only "novel" aspect here is that it is being done with NFC... and what else is NFC intended for but communication between devices...

If they consider Bitcoin to be illegal, then he can't be found guilty of securities fraud as nothing of value was stolen.
because I can then watch it on platforms NOT blessed by Netflix or LoveFilm and watch it as many times as I want also without hammering my monthly bandwidth total.
I hate it how I can only watch LoveFilm on Kindle Fires or else on platforms that can run that Microsoft Silverlight DRM rubbish.
Never investigated Netflix, but strongly suspect it also won't run on Linux officially either.

How do we know it's not Microsoft lobbying behind the scenes to get them banned until Microsoft can get their own product out that, lo and behold, will have display inhibited at more than 25 mph?
Don't forget, the Segway got legislated out of use on the public roads with all sorts of shenanigans that could only have been the result of lobbying from industries that stood to lose from widespread adoption.

As people have earlier mentioned, all you have to do is split the print jobs up into individual components. Any software that then baulks at a part is obviously completely untrustworthy and could baulk at any tubular shape that you really require printing.

Funny also how the people who were in a position to lead the others into throwing out the PATRIOT act were the recipients of the weaponised Anthrax letters...

this would be because they don't keep enough fire crews and appliances around to provide proper cover for the airport while they're dealing with an incident.
Just imagine how much money was lost because all the runways were closed while this was being dealt with.

if Windows 8 was really successful, then they'd be crowing about the number of activations by users. As it is, they're reduced to bleating about licences sold to OEMs who have to buy huge quantities to take advantage of the cliff-tier pricing discounts for volume purchases.

Can someone please get these looney scaremongering climatologists up to speed with modern geology... Plate Tectonics has been mainstream for decades now, what textbooks are they still using then? Ones from the 1950's?
RAF drone pilots are commissioned officers and they've introduced a different pilot wings badge for them so you can tell they're NOT real pilots... There's still no need for them to be commissioned really, but the RAF is just one big flying club still for the pilots and they need their real pilots to be in the real chain of command.
