Clutching at its Perl 6, developer community ponders language name with less baggage

Perlish?

We checked and yup, it's no longer 2001. And yet you can pwn a Windows box via Notepad.exe

NotePad? Useless old thing. Won't stay on top. Doesn't have color coding. Use NotePad3, I use and recommend it.

Take that, creationists: Boffins witness birth of new species in the lab

Re: What is a created kind?

The list of kinds? They are working on it. It is a protoscience, called Baraminology.

Here is one creationist scientific investigation, as an example to the curious and/or open-minded. https://answersingenesis.org/creation-science/baraminology/red-wolf-species-classification-affirms-biblical-creation-puzzles-evolutionists/

Re: S/360 I knew you well

I have great memories of being a Computer Operator on a 360/40. They were amazing capable and interesting machines (and peripherals).

US Republican enviro-vets: 'Climate change is real. Deal with it'

Re: Cold enough yet? No? Just wait...

Peer Review (unfortunately) makes little difference these days. Just look at the cosy club of global warming alarmists at East Anglia's Climate Research Unit to easily see that.

P.S. Please post a reliable link to these so-called "erroneous assumptions", if you can, thanks!

Re: home brew

Even better, run Tiny Tiny RSS on Red Hat's free 'OpenShift' cloud. Then you can have your own site and access it from anywhere. It only takes about 20 mins to set up, and no coding required. Going good for me so far (2 days only).

Giant kangaroos wiped out by humans, not climate change

Same goes for dinosaurs

Guess why there are no large dinosaurs left? Sure, some died out from environmental causes, but many became extinct because humans didn't like it when they came visiting.

Water like that of Earth's oceans found in comet

Just like the Bible says...

God made the expanse [firmament or atmosphere?], and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so. Gen 1:7

So, I'm not surprised there is water in space with the same isotopic signature.

the new kid on the block

is Panda Cloud Antivirus.

Unobtrusive, detects more malware than any other freeware (Ok some false positives), doesn't need signature updates.

Not if they are tech savvy. Firefox or Opera are better and safer browsers.

Hansen's data magic

More fudged data from James Hansen, if he is running to form. It's amazing that he can get away with hiding his data, using invalid data, and using invalid data manipulation for so long - and still be regarded as an expert! http://tinyurl.com/6gb4rx

The Electric Universe?

There is some theory called "The Electric Universe" which is supposedly wacky pseudoscience. Maybe there is a grain of truth in it?

There certainly is a large body of very shaky cosmology trying to present itself as largely proven fact - the Big bang Theory, for example.

IPCC's final report on climate change due tomorrow

Follow the BIG money

Wow, if true that is $11,000 for each of the 8 people that work there.

How does that compare with the up to $720,000 given to James Hansen (climate alarmist) by a George Soros company? http://www.notesinthemargin.com/archives/392

IPCC scam a failure

Over the last 20 years, despite its manipulation of climate science, the IPCC has failed to provide evidence of a significant human influence on climate.

US teacher fired for non-literal bible reading

Ross Nixon

God-denier

One should feel sorry for ignorant God-deniers, not sack them!

Sure, creationist teachers get unfairly sacked if they express doubts about molecules-to-man evolution. But just because Christophobes are intolerant, is no reason for Christians to react similarly. They should be more tolerant.
