When you can't rig what journalist say go after social media and search engines so you control what people see.

    I wish I was joking.

that's kinda what the (alleged?) search engine 'result rigging' is all about, right?

    Wisely?

"emerging tech won't be addressed "wisely" if the big players drop out of the conversation."

The big players dropping out of the conversation is more likely to increase, not decrease, the amount of wisdom, as long as the rest of the tech community remains involved.

Well that doesn't seem very likely - if it appears so, it'll be business peeps that think of themselves as tech but just know some buzzwords and know how to use Excel and access.

Knowing this president, it'll just be several hours of him trying to get tech executives to suck up to him; self-aggrandizing lies; and rants about his "enemies". At least until everyone gets bored of his antics and leave (Satya would probably be first since he's already served under loud, obnoxious balding blubbering buffoon for years and probably doesn't want flashbacks)

Trump's private discussion is likely to cover artificial intelligence, 5G and quantum computing.

That'll either be the shortest meeting ever, or the longest tutorial in the history of education.

any intelligence he may possess is completely artificial

Never attribute to artificial intelligence what can be adequately explained by natural stupidity.

    It did not take long

Google search results for “Trump News” shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake News Media. In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal? 96% of....

It did not take long for a "democratic" (quotes probably needed) government to start moaning that Google is not giving them access to the Dragonfly/Roskomnadzor interface.

Well, not entirely unexpected. In the slightest.

guess who will be missing from the meeting?

guess which very large company is not in Trump's good books?

Tim Cook and Apple are apparently not worthy of being in El magnificent Trump's presence.

Trump will probable put a 10% Tariff on all iDevices next week.

Apple should mark up all their products in the US by 10%, and put it down on the receipt as the "Trump tax". Make sure people know who is to blame.

    censorship is stupid

If you let them make fools of themselves, things work out better.

If you believe people are too stupid for that to work,

A: you are an elitist, and

B: you should be helping educate them so they aren't, or

C: Admitting that there are a lot of genetically stupid people on earth and equality under the laws isn't the same thing as we're all equal. (I'm all for the former, and the latter speaks for itself with a little observation)

    The cognitive dissonance is deafening.

The MSM has always lied. Think of any major event they reported you were present for, and compare what you saw with what they reported. The get the sportsball scores right, usually. That's about it. The rest is VERY colored by the ownership's views at the least. No, they don't tell reporters to slant things this way or that - they hire the ones already slanted or who easily figure out which side of their paycheck is buttered. People do what they are incentivised to do.

And in this world, if it bleeds, it leads, rubbernecking is a sport, and it sells ads - incentive.

US retailers are losing out to Amazon more than the rest of the world

Not because of amazon but because they have a different sales tax for every customer.

And most refuse to ship outside of the states.

Even when they will the postage costs more than the goods.
