    Just going to get more and more of this with Net Neutrality. Content providers and carriers will seek each other out, to prevent others from shafting them - Mutually Assured Destruction for the internet age.

      That's the problem. AT&T with throw shitloads of the most expensive lawyers they can find at this simply to bankrupt En-Touch, with not-so-subtle hints that anyone else complaining will get the same treatment.

        AT&T have managed to reassemble themselves without antitrust oversight, or that pesky universal service obligation. Go figure.

    Vertical integration

    There is something to be said about prohibiting vertical integration within the media sector. This is how we're going to end up with giant media fiefdoms. A single company will own everything from the studio to the cable box under your TV. If your local television/internet provider doesn't have a studio of its own to use as a reciprocity tool, you're out of luck. And if the megacorp that provides your access gets into a spat with a rival megacorp, forget about subscribing to their media portal. With Net Neutrality gone, you'll be lucky to get a 360p feed.

    Too many mergers. We're quickly moving back to monopoly positions in many industries. If this comes down to Ajit Pai then AT&T will be allowed to do this. It fits with the Trump ideology of the wealthy screwing everyone else and plays into Pai's wanting a highly paid with one of the ISPs once he leaves politics. Possibly, the worst part of Trump's reign will be all the Judges' he appoints. They're all a bunch of far right-wing nutbags who care nothing about the citizenry and so Trump's legacy of screwing over everyone but the wealthy will continue well after he's long gone.
