back to article Hot growth industry: checking social networks for nasties

YouTube's revealed it will increase the size of its video-nasty-spotting workforce to ten thousand people. CEO Susan Wojcicki used the fuddy-duddy medium of text to explain that YouTube's recognised that “... some bad actors are exploiting our openness to mislead, manipulate, harass or even harm.” Wojcicki stated that all of …

    10,000?

Seems some libtard fucks with their gender studies degrees have at last found someone dumb enough to employ them.

Like I really trust google to censor large parts of the internet.

    Oh good

Perhaps they could make YouTube Kids completely moderated instead of letting a machine learning algorithm decide that Spiderman getting Elsa pregnant is suitable viewing for five year olds.

    When I was a kid

We were told that the evil Soviet Union had armies of party members who read and censored everything

But reading and (potentially) censoring the entire literary output of a country is almost feasible compared to going through the 300 hours of video that's added to youtube every minute.

Ten thousand people watching uploads twenty four hours a day would only see half of what was uploaded.

I'm guessing that there's some initial filtration, and then of what gets through I don't suppose they need to view in real time. Speed viewing at <x> times normal speed / 1 frame in <x> would be enough to assess a video and then a small percentage would be passed for more detailed scrutiny.

I'd have to assume turnover rate for content reviewers could be high. I'm not sure how many people could look at videos day in and day out and not get affected by any 'nasties' that arise such as:

    • cats play-fighting incessantly

    • shocking attempts at dinner

    • incompetent attempts at dismantling an iPhone

    • deplorable comedy sketches

    • needless anticipation of taking something out of a box

You do make it sound pretty unpleasant. Hey, why not sentence misdemeanor offenders to 'community service,' checking online cat videos and such? Or, would that be considered cruel and unusual punishment...?

    Liberal Policies

With the libtard management hiring libtard reviewers all we'll be seeing is libtard videos. Freedom of speech is sorely being tested by the censorship taking place on social media sites where they are enforcing a liberal agenda and suppressing conservative views. Socialism, here we come.
