        It is an offence to mishandle one persons data so Uber were in 2014 guilty of over 100,000 individual offences. The fine for a repeat could be $40.6 billion.

          God, I wish that were true. You could take your pick of underfunded infrastructure in the US and fix it.

    "Uber has a strict policy.."

    The only strict policy Uber has to is to screw everyone everywhere for as much as it can.

    The rest is at the whim of the manager confronted with the decision to be ethical or not and, as we know, ethics is not even sweeping the floor in Uber offices.

    The Uber's privacy limitation would definitely be a warning for all companies. The way current data is accessed and its usage policies should be reviewed by all companies.
