back to article Sony open-sources NNabla neural network learnings

Last night, Tokyo-based Sony open-sourced its deep learning framework, which it has dubbed NNabla – Neural Network Libraries. The libraries support static and dynamic computation graphs as well as functions, operators and optimizer modules for neural networks. On the backend, the code is written primarily in C++11. If you …

    WTF?

    Eh?

dubbed "Neural Network Libraries," or NNabla for short.

How do you get NNabla from Neural Network Libraries? It's certainly not a shortened version, unless you count jumbling all the letters up, picking a few at random then throwing them down into some sort of barely pronounceable name.

It's either called NNabla or it's not.

I guess they are hoping to branch out into car manufacturing soon.

Neural (2 syllables) , Network (2 syllables), Libraries (3 syllables)

          versus

          N (1 syllable) Nabla ( 2 syllables)

So 7 Syllables shortened to 3 Syllables.

          Does that help?

I'll be more impressed when Sony fix the latest Android update to my telly that has killed hdmi-cec and Netflix 5.1 sound.

    First world problems.
