    Let's hope they're thorough.

    I hope that audit includes processes. You can write the best software in the world, but if people do stupid things with the data it produces, the problem is no longer the software.

      Exactly. Data breach by e-mailed spreadsheet is a classic wetware problem. Which means they've got a problem with processes. (Doeasn't mean they don't also have software problems.)

          No, exercise the principle of enlightened self interest. Just add their bank details and account passwords to the data set so it gets randomly included and they'll become very careful overnight..

    Knowing the sort of people, training and processes involved, the people concerned were unaware of the DPC or the rules.
