back to article Countdown contestant pays homage to IT Crowd's Moss

In one of the world’s greatest self-referential in-jokes, Countdown contestant Danny Davies has worn a T-shirt commemorating the appearance of Maurice Moss on Countdown in an episode of The IT Crowd. Youtube Video Davies appeared on the show wearing a T-shirt that said “Good morning, that’s a nice TNETENNBA” in homage to Moss …

    Kudos to Danny Davies. :)

      Re: Excellent

Thanks Ketlan! I wore the T-shirt as a little bit of a joke when I went into the Green Room. Rachel Riley loved it and the Production Manager asked me to leave it on as it may cause a little buzz for the show

"Did you notice the ".co.uk" in your address bar?"

What, as in TheRegister.co.uk? (accessible everywhere) As in my own site, a .co.uk? (can be accessed anywhere) As in Amazon.co.uk? (can be used to order stuff to a French address)

Just because something says .co.uk doesn't automatically imply "Britain Only".

Re: "Not available in your country. Sorry."

Haven't you noticed the increasing number of articles from El Reg's San Francisco office, full of American spellings and terms? I don't think there's any intention to be a British publication for British people.

I, for one, wouldn't mind them running all of the articles through an American-to-English* dictionary before publication.

Yes, and I can tell you that Amazon.co.uk can sell you the DVDs. (even to a French afdress, although they'll now stiff you for postage) I can also tell you that the DVD loading sequencies, menus and extras are all worth watching.

You can now select which country you want to be in. For instance UK for this, and US for netflix & youtube. Enjoy.

    Word rejected by Collins' dictionary

Could someone please explain, for those who may well have thought that The IT Crowd was utter rubbish, whether TNETENNBA has any actual meaning, or is just a in-joke like Mornington Crescent (which may also be considered as a waste of time)?

Mornington Crescent is not utter rubbish. It was a popular game played on the platforms of London tube stations used as air raid shelters during the blitz. At least that's what my American cousin believes to this day.

I went on because I auditioned and passed.

It is part of my 40 before 40 challenge to appear on a game show

I wore the tshirt as a little homage but as the production team loved it they asked me to keep the tshirt on for the show

perhaps a reference to John Connor's foster father getting the blade from the T1000 as he drinks low fat milk.

Moral: don't drink low fat milk near a terminator. Stick to beer - just hand over clothes and motorbike when asked.

          Re: @JetSetJim see Terminator II

True - although it may be a stretch to call that a pint by volume of terminator.

Perhaps one of the missing kill methods was the T1000 liquefying into a targets mouth, down into their stomach and then "branching out", as it were.

15 quid a year or some tosh, enables you to pop up in quite a few locations in the world, then you can use localized regional content, or for instance, go on kick ass torrents or pirate bay. not that i do, obviously.
