Friday night telly!!!
Same night that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D debuts on C4 too...
Cult sitcom the IT Crowd will return to Blighty's televisions in just two weeks, according to the show's Twitter feed. Fans of the British comedy show, featuring four downtrodden and socially inept IT workers in the basement of Reynholm Industries, will be delighted to hear the news that the one-off special episode – trailed …
I'm actually in two minds about this...
One half of me is going Woo Hoo - more IT crowd!
The other half is thinking that it's like resurrecting a much loved friend with the proviso that you're only going to see them for a short time, and they won't be back the next week, or the week after that... and the last 2008 episode should have been a proper full-stop and they've all gone on to better(?) things.
Having said that, Richard Ayoade does seem to be doing Gadget Man much in the style of Moss (or possibly he was playing Moss much in the style of Richard Ayoade all along!)
It's fun to spot the old PCs on the shelves, though - apparently some were on loan from the museum at Bletchley Park.
The only vaguely techy joke in the last series that I can recall concerned Vista (controlling the bomb disposal robot, so "we're all going to die" would be a natural response) but it was pretty well known to be a disaster, even by the general public.
I'm torn between 2 episode as my favourite.....
Friendface for obvious reasons - was a brilliant episode but I think it might have to be my second favourite with "don't be silly the internet doesn't weigh anything" as my absolute favourite....
be honest.... who hasn't considered putting a flashing light on a box and trying to convince someone that the box *is* the internet??
Anyway I digress - I'm happy about the news - I just hope it doesn't turn out to be as much a disappointment as the Red Dwarf reboot.....
