      Maybe they have better things to do then pointless benchmarks. It's the storage equivalent of Nurburgring lap times except several orders of magnitude more boring.

    Raid-10 vs Raid-6

    Well, Huawei’s is a Raid-10 config with 16 controllers, whereas NetApp’s 2.4M iops is Raid-6 on 6 controllers.

    Raid-10 is simple to do, fast and wasteful on space, so basically it’s only used for benchmarks and niche applications. Raid-6 is the real deal.

    EMC have not come up with a proper new product for ages (VNX is just a rebadge Clariion) and still rely on decades old designs that have been patched and bent to fit with market expectations but are hobbled shams, with artifical limitations that that allow them upsell you, they have even killed of the good stuff they bought from elsewhere.

    NetApp are not much better, though they at least admit they are a software company that does hardware.

    HP are the same as EMC except they killed theyhardware and sell the bought in stuff.

    The rest are just pitching to HCI market where the big money is.

    I think the simple facts are around the relevancy of SPC-1 in an all flash era.

    Every all flash array has more iops than what is needed and what the app workloads can drive..

    The common bottlenecks are now outside the storage ... at long last

    They are now in the apps and the humans!

    ...so... it doesn't have the relevancy compared to the HDD era...

    RIP HDD ... we loved you once!

    American vendors abandoning the field for other nations to take over. Next in line: SoftBank with ARM server chips. Not this year, not next ... but it will happen if Americans do not change their attitude.
