    :) Sounds like fun and not at all a site to abuse in every manner!

    Still, your UK police are much less "shoot first, hide any video later" than these US coppers. It will be fun to see how they plan to keep track of all this video they are taking. Surely it's all some kind of evidence of crimes not yet discovered or devised and must be kept for "the greater good."

      The commish gets a shiny flat cap and doesn't wear the pregnant woman's pee bucket (a random law that's on the statute books)

      they love their databases and merging them all into a super DB is going to be fun, oh and all that data on people that have Insurance and Tax, and have done nothing wrong from the ANPR DB, just something eles for them to mine.

      We ave more CCTV per capita than any country in the world, the MET being the largest force (3 times the size of the next biggest) is used to dealing with masses of video.

    Another outsourcing "success" story

    No doubt the Met decided to outsource their IT back in 1998 because they didn't have a clue what to do with it.

    They had slow Windows XP workstations until very recently, why was that allowed to happen?

    On the other hand, the various providers did very well out of the arrangement, they must have been laughing all the way to the bank.

    So if anyone has an outsourcing success story, feel free to share it. Did the snake oil salesmen's powerpoint presentation actually describe the benefits that were originally promised?

    Are organisations still stupid enough to outsource?
