    I can't believe that the Met Office are running a set of Excel Macros - Forecast_Tomorrow_SouthWest etc. Is Windows just a pretty and familiar front end?

      CSIRO runs a Windows HPC cluster: http://www.csiro.au/en/Research/Technology/Big-computers/Bragg

      Presumably the default request was just an upgrade of the hardware, but either they are sick of it, or somebody is on a mission to clean the world of MS, or they've been told this is the "correct" way to issue a tender.

    Dear IBM, thanks for your submission, however...

    Can you imagine anyone wanting to go ahead with IBM (in Australia, at least) for the next few years? Talk about a career limiting move!
