    Seems trivial to block, as the IP address can be banned during the TCP handshake, after a small threshold of failed TLS connections.

    Leaving aside the more, er, questionable elements of this proposal, wouldn't the effort to validate that block chain exceed the ddos itself?

    Jail sentences can be handed out based on how many MoronCoins were paid out to the attacker. This is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard of - these dudes better stay in academia .. the real world is going to be far less forgiving.
