I'm sure there will be a general election shortly. After all, no less a person than Theresa May expressed the view that a PM without a democratic mandate wasn't an altogether good thing. Though maybe that was only when the PM in question was Gordon Brown?

It's not just Twitter
Inspired by the article, I tried looking up "Teresa May" on Google. At first, it decided I must surely mean "Theresa May", but at least offered to let me perform what I actually asked in case I really had meant it.
Even when I confirmed what I meant, though, the results were dominated by the UK's new PM. So I tried adding "-Theresa", at which point I was offered matches only for "Teresa May" ... several which were still actually talking about the PM.
Switching that last result over to image search, about half of the first row of images are of the PM. Which has to be quite deflating to anyone actually hoping for pics of the soft porn star.

Have you tried switching off "Safe Search" mode??
I do agree with another reply though, auto"correction" is a PITA when trying to search for something obscure.
(Switching it off and on again is a highly technical process that shouldnt be performed by non-professionals).

That's another example. It's no longer possible to switch off Safe Search. You can switch it on, but there is no "off" state. There "on" and "let Google decide". Try this experiment: Do a Google image search for "naked". You see naked people, but 95% of them are censored or carefully posed so as not to show anything. Now repeat the experiment on Bing. Initially the results will be even tamer, but unlike Google they present you with an option to turn Safe Search off. Upon doing so, you will indeed see lots unobscured naked bodies.
Of course it is possible to see explicit images on Google, but you have to ask for them very clearly, because there's no option to tell it to stop second-guessing what you want. And if what you actually want is neither porn nor G-rated, it can make your task quite difficult indeed.

Thank you. I am pretty happy about it too. I dont really like May but I didnt like the EU politicians who placed themselves above ours and demand money for their jollies. But dont you worry shades it is still the party we voted for last time and come the next GE we can vote for a different one if we want! Or if May is surprisingly good we might re-elect the Tories (not sure what the odds will be like for that one).

Yet again you show why we are so happy to tell the EU where to shove its politicians. As you point out, people tend not to trust them. So lets get rid of politicians who dont need an electorate and instead have a system where we can vote them out. And maybe even vote for a change to the election system if we dont like it!

Blair did hope to go further. That guy under serious investigation for some time was aiming to be president of the EU! Imagine that and the plan to have an EU army! The middle east peace envoy could bring his flavour of peace to even more of the middle east!
On an oddly positive note for feminism there will be another female PM! If anyone would like some amusement head over to the guardian to watch them perform mental gymnastics and argue against May while trying to hold on to their militant feminist views.

She (much as I dislike her) was elected the same way as any other MP. Try learning how our system works. The only people who voted for Cameron are those in his Witney constituency. No one else got a say in that yet he became PM.
Depending on your leanings, did you have a problem with Brown or Major being "unelected" PMs?
