    what else do you expect of

    <rant> A country sunk so low in leadership that what passes for intellectual and political innovation follows what ever current fad being sold to the PHB classes of the northern hemisphere. Even imported two prime ministers from some broken down empire because we cant breed own own pollies, let alone train them to be moderately competent before getting elected. So of course the economic rationalist fanatics will insist we can import all skills or manufactured goods. I sadly remember some report 20 years ago insisting blue sky research should be targeted. Once oxymorons like that did not create gales of contemptuous laughter the end of serious research was inevitable. One of those imported PMs is responsible for the cuts in this article, but there is a long history of foreign educated brown- nosers stuffing up activities in Australia to suit their " betters" </rant>
