Oh, there will be a much bigger one coming soon. I just looked at the privacy law as the US is trying to enact and it's a lot of air - every effort has been given to avoid giving it any substance that could harm US interests. The problem with that is that from a legal perspective, working with a US provider still puts you outside compliance with EU laws and as soon as the great unwashed and lawyers wake up to the fact that that could yield yummy damages (even in the EU) all hell will break lose.
You better stock up on popcorn.
