    I wonder what could be done with a tiny IR camera integrated into a smartwatch's wristband clasp (where it would hardly be obtrusive), looking forward along the arm, towards the fingers. I have a hunch it might be able to detect some gestures if it could see your fingertips and IMHO it would be less cumbersome than a full ring-and-glove thingie...
