Arthur: “I’ve never seen anything like it in my wildest dreams. The two suns … it was like mountains of fire boiling into space”
Marvin: “I’ve seen it. It’s rubbish.”

Would make a great place for a restaurant though!
That's where Elvis is hiding
"47c is just slightly larger than Uranus..."
Why do lines like that make me snigger?
Re: "47c is just slightly larger than Uranus..."
"Uranus is a gas giant"
"The twin suns of Soulianis and Rahm ... !"
"Or whatever," said Ford quietly.
"Soulianis and Rahm!" insisted Zaphod.
The spacecraft had found a Tatooine-style world - one planet orbiting two suns as seen in Star Wars last year -
Last year...and the year before that. And the year before that. And...
"slightly larger than Uranus"
And in honour of those brave ones bowing a large cymbal on TOTP while someone gives it beans with the psychedelic effects on the cameras-

Don't be silly...
You can't find Magrathea by just waving a telescope about... The odds of finding it that way are almost infinitely improbable.
Re: Don't be silly...
You mean, like in a million-to-one chance?
I think it has been proven that those luck out 9 times out of 10...
Re: Don't be silly...
Yes, but if something is infinitely improbable, it must be finitely probable....
There is another planet
Of course it cannot be Gallifrey, as any fule no, Gallifrey is in the constellation of Kasterborous, not Cygnus.
And what of it's other sister planet, Karn?
The Sisterhood will get you!
Re: There is another planet
Stars aren't IN constellations - it's just a direction, it depends where you are standing
It might be in Cygnus for us and Kasterborous from there.
... I can't believe I bothered to write this....
Sorry had to comment.
It's the book sitting in my bog on top of the toliet paper at the moment, Mr Dents just riding round with slartibartfast. Brilliant book.
Although El Reg is becoming more like the Vogons each day. I'll get my coat unless the mods have a poem for me.
Cant be Gallifrey as it was destroyed in the time wars
But you forget the light speed effect. Yes, it was destroyed, but back here on Earth we can still see it.
Given it's 250m light years away, we've got a long wait until we on Earth can see it actually being destroyed.
Light speed - and reality - is such a bummer.
That small star could have been a Jupiter sized planet once. Before the monoliths got hold of it, that is. Let's send will.i.am to investigate and sing when he gets there. (Us sing, not him).
