Science is an illusion ...
... caused by lack of religion.

But she doesn't exist. Try a tumble-dryer set on whatever passes for medium-low in your neck of the woods. Throw in a dampish bath towel with the shirt. Pull the shirt after a couple minutes (your temp & timing will vary, depending on equipment and fabric ... experiment). Hang on a hanger while still warm, until cool. I stopped ironing shirts decades ago.
science is exactly the act of inventing the future matterials technologies. I think that the best example in it is a grephene invention on 2004 - now the whole world is talking about it increasingly - just for an instance - check this out: http://www.nano-man.co.uk/Nano/Electronics/Just_an_atom_thick_and_200_times_stronger_than_steel_and_a_near-perfect_conductor.html
Faith has its place and I'm a little jealous of those that truly believe. To me, however, God is no more substantial as the easter bunny, toothfairy or father Christmas and most likely has the same origins as white lies to children.
Science is just a repeatable method of investigation. Nothing more.
It gets faiths knickers is a twist when it disproves a belief.
Eg:
Faith: I believe I can fly! = Wonderful feelling
Science: Prove it. = Wonderful feeling replaced by feeling foolish and bruised.
What science or faith do not do is tell you how to treat others around you. Religion and law are a whole other bag of worms.
