Nothing to do with spam, of course

Or course the total loss of Yahoo's reputation has NOTHING to do with their spam-loving policies.

Do you believe in evolution and progress? I do, but only on the long term. In the 'NOW term', the Internet is going to the dogs, and Yahoo is one of the leaders into the pit. Microsoft couldn't care less since they get their pound of flesh up front, and Google is too busy figuring out new ways to make money off of EVIL... Have I tagged enough of the big players yet?

My current mental models of the Internet are based on gangland Chicago during Prohibition, the era of the long civil war in Japan before the unification leading to the Edo Era, with maybe a touch of Tombstone, Arizona in the wildest days of the 19th century. However, drunk cowboys rarely shot children and grannies, whereas today's cybercriminals are only two eager to pwn anyone of any age. Also any race, creed, nationality, sexual orientation, or complete lack of any of the above. The main requirement seems to be the use of Microsoft Windows? (However, remember that Microsoft is NOT liable for any indirect or consequential damages--remember your EULA!)

Let's look at the positive side! At least the spammers aren't bigots!

"Yahoo! now reports revenue associated with the Search Agreement on a net (after TAC) basis rather than a gross basis."

We were lying last year about our profits and now Microsoft wants us to tell the truth so the figures a lot smaller
