Funny you say that. We had a user go from the US to Europe with a Windows Smartphone about a year ago and he was actively blocked from accessing the wireless data network by Orange and I believe also O2. He called Orange and they walked him through removing some small file/registry entry that was still left there even after uninstalling skype. After that everything worked fine.
